Alum: Mostly a very good school. Communication is not the best, however. Parents trying to communicate anything to the administrators is difficult. Teachers are mostly caring and college preparedness is impressive. Poor student behavior is often allowed to continue too long and/or is not punished harshly enough. Most of the teachers are good people and very good at their jobs. Sports are supported about as well as a small Indiana public school can support them. Community involvement is encouraged and there is a great community surrounding the school which does often get involved. Most students, even the less academic and more ill-behaved ones, are decent people. The entire student body is overall very pleasant, decent, and kind. Though participation tends to be low, there is a theater department as well as a band and a choir. The band and choir will go to competition and the theater department performs a couple shows a year, which fosters a very fun time and environment for those involved...

Junior: MSD of Steuben County is a great school district that includes five schools. There are 3 elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school. Being a Junior in high school, I have experience in each setting and each place had a very good learning environment. In elementary school the teachers were very nice and they were easy to learn from. In middle school it was a fun atmosphere and the teachers pushed us to be the best we could all be. In high school, the teachers could be more helpful and understanding, but if you get your work done then there is nothing to worry about. What I want to see changed is the way teachers interact with their students in the high school settings. There are a couple teachers who are very mean and they hate kids, so they need to be fired...
