Freshman: As a Canton student, I’ve enjoyed my time here. There’s plenty of kids with different interests and ambitions, it’s all just a fun and overall pleasant environment. My only complaint is that there isn’t diversity racially wise, mainly because of geographic location. Alum: Many of the teachers at this school are very good, especially in the Math and English departments. It starts very early in the morning, but the trade off is that you get a lot of time in the evenings to work on homework and such. No double periods, which is a definitive plus. There can definitely be a dearth of academic guidance, with the prime example being that no one in my grade was adequately informed on the importance/potential of the PSAT. However, overall it's a very good school with down to Earth and friendly people. Also, there are quite a few clubs. Senior: Colton-Pierrepont is truly a very good school. I moved here from Louisiana my sophomore year of high school and have made so many amazing friends! The teachers are personable and helpful no matter the situation. The staff is really easy to talk to and care about every student. Senior: Throughout my 13 years at NNCS, I have witnessed a tremendous amount of growth. While the faculty and students change every year, the students feel like a tight knit community! Our student life is highlighted in categories like sports and art! Differences are celebrated in this district! I could not be more thankful to have spent my school career within this district! I am saddened to be leaving but being a Flyer (our amazing mascot) gave me the wings I need in order to fly high and do wonderful things in the “real-world”. Senior: I have went to Heuvelton central school my whole life. I have loved my experiences their with sports and music. I have played sports my whole life their and I have had so many cherished and honorable moments, that I won’t forget! I would love to see more students enroll to this amazing school! It has taught me so many lessons about life and being an adult. The teachers and staff are amazing. Everyone loves to laugh and is respectful. Heuvelton has one of the best sports teams around as well! The same is with music in my opinion! Eveyone at Heuvelton is so supportive at what your doing in life and helps you succeed, this is even when you feel like your falling. That is one of the best traits at Heuvelton Central is you will fail and they will teach you to get back up. That was one of the best experiences I have had their. Senior: I loved how small the school was, it allowed me as well as many others to get one-on-one time with teachers. The school has such a tight knit community who is always positive and eager to help and pitch in. I do however regret the small school It is that we don't have as many programs and activities compared to other schools. I would love to see an agricultural education program through our school!... Senior: The best part of my experience in school has to be the involvement of the teachers with their students. They have always been willing to answer questions, explain a procedure, or allow students to come to them for extra help. Rarely would a student feel unwelcome. When it comes to the worst parts, I find that I personally have very few that come to mind. A change that I would like to see would be the restrooms being fixed. Alum: I loved the teachers and support I got from everyone. Everyone was friendly and supportive during the ‘80s and ‘90s when I was in school. My only regret is moving to Ogdensburg and putting my 18-year-old recently “graduated” daughter in OFA. I truly believe she would have had a much more positive academic experience at LCS. Senior: My experience while attending OFA has been very positive. The staff is helpful. We are a smaller school so I feel comfortable getting any extra help I feel I need. I am in various clubs. I think the only drawback I could say about OFA is I wish we had more opportunities for travel within the school clubs. Senior: Morristown Central School is a very small school where everyone is known. After years of attending we all are very close with one another and basically are like a big family. With being a small school, the students are able to receive extra help when they need it. Teachers are ever so caring and want all of us students to achieve our goals.
