Senior: I have been a student in the Lake Stevens School District since I was in kindergarten. Over the years, I have been a member of multiple sports and clubs. I have come across countless teachers and staff members, and throughout my experiences, I have been met with nothing but kindness. I am extremely grateful for the memories Lake Stevens has given me. I have run into some adults who peeved me, but you will have that issue anywhere. For the most part, I have had no problems with my schooling in Lake Stevens. I have only positive things to say.... Sophomore: I have been attending the Snohomish School district since kindergarten and have had a wonderful experience thus far. I attended Cascade View Elementary, Centennial Middle School and am currently taking classes at Snohomish High School. My teachers have all been very encouraging of my growth as a student. There is a wide range of AP and honors classes offered, as well as a highly capable program in the Elementary schools. There are also many opportunities for extra-curricular activities, including theater club, tennis, ASB, marching band, CAD, and knowledge bowl. My younger sister is on the Autism spectrum and her special-ed teachers are incredible. One thing that may be a drawback is the lack of diversity. Snohomish is a vastly rural area and the teachers and students are mostly white. Being a small-town school district, the community and traditions are strong. Junior: The school is quite good, there is a large selection of subjects for study and different difficulties, but it is very difficult to get into the class you want to attend because of the large number of children. Food, as in most schools, is very fatty, there is a large selection, but it all boils down to its harmfulness. The school also has embroidery on the number of electronic cigarettes that students smoke in the toilets, and if you don't have one, you can simply buy one from one of the students who sells them. Senior: I’d have to say my experiences with the teachers and administration is very different compared to other schools! They care for there students futures a lot, many have motivated me to trying new things I’m not fond too: wrestling and etc. I 100% believe that if I went to a different school, I wouldn’t have had as many accomplishments as I do now. Senior: Arlington high school has the most amazing teachers and support staff. I have attended Arlington all 12 years and I have had an excellent experience. I have had many opportunities to excel. The school sprit is like no other. We offer so many extracurricular activities to keep the youth super involved. Works Here: The Edmonds School District likes to boast their three Es: Equity, Engagement, and Excellence. Well, they should take off equity because these schools are far from equitable. College Place Middle School is one of the only schools in the district left in a crumbling building while other schools are on the docket for their second rebuild. How is that equitable? When told College Place Middle School isn't safe, instead of pushing forward for a new building that could be made safer, they spent a horrendous amount of money on a chain link fence. Our school already looks like a prison, and we have many families with incarcerated family members. What kind of message is that sending, Edmonds School District? The School Board needs to revisit its own standards, because it clearly favors some schools, populations, and children over others, and it is plain to see and plain wrong.... Read 59 reviews

Senior: I transferred to Lakewood high school the middle of my sophomore year from snohomish high school. My experience here have been great. It was a rocky start as it should be moving to a new school, but after settling everyone was very helpful and kind. I am now in my senior year here at Lakewood and I love it due to the smaller community and campus we have here, it’s a close knit community where everyone knows just about everyone. The relationships between students and teachers is better that when i attended a larger school, they have more time to learn about the students they have and are able to make more connections to the students helping them be able to do better in school, wanting to come to class more often. This also helps with the opportunity to come in for more one on one conversations and explanations of the criteria we learn. Senior: Overall i really enjoyed my experience with Monroe District. Whenever i had issues they were really helpful. However, what I would change is the amount of support counselors should give. The counselors aren't very helpful when it comes to talking about emotional well being and talking about personal matters. I think that we need better well trained counselors who know how to deal with students who are in need of help. It would have also been nice if we would have had classes that helped prepare us for college preparations and adult hood life. Senior: I had a good experience at Sultan High School it's a small school so you get to know everyone pretty well. There is a wide variety of sports offered and I'd say we have some good coaches as well. The food variety has also gotten better as in they offer different stuff most of the time. The teachers are also really passionate about teaching thier subjects.
