Parent: Loudoun Country Day School's program for PK-8 children is superb! My three children graduated some years ago and they were completely prepared for the next steps in their educational development. Parent: Our daughter is a first year junior at SMS and I can't thank the school enough for the extraordinary experience she has had! SMS knows girls and provides support for all aspects of our daughter's life--academically, socially, spiritually. She has flourished here and I think it is because she feels understood and heard by her teachers and classmates. It really has made a difference in her academic performance and overall well being. The river setting of SMS provides opportunities for water activities, STEM studies, and daily reflection. The sports and arts programs are strong and inclusive. Our daughter is challenged academically and we have seen marked improvement in her writing, analytical, and verbal communications skills. We have been quite impressed by the school's transition to distance learning and community engagement during the coranvirus pandemic. Senior: Going to the Academy of the Holy Cross, I’ve discovered who I am. I loved growing and learning with other young women and sharing different life/culture/ religious experiences with one another. One great memory that I have from Holy Cross is our Holy Cross days! Huge competition between all the grades from 9-12. At the end of the day we all come together as a community and close with a prayer. Even though traditions at Holy Cross do change I hope that everyone’s energy is in the same place! That is something I hope would never change. One thing I would like to see more from Holy Cross are more presentations and celebrations about people cultures. The Academy of the Holy Cross does a good job with celebrating but I hope that there is a little more effort. I love being apart of the celebration and talking about my heritage.... Read 193 reviews
