Senior: The student-to-teacher ratio in Schuylkill Haven is perfect. If you happen to have a free period, any teacher is available to help you! They truly care about the student's success:) The only complaint I have about SHAHS is that the school is not environmentally friendly or disability-friendly whatsoever. As someone who was always hurt and having to use the elevator, it is ridiculously far from every classroom. Schuylkill Haven is incredibly friendly and a school where you know everyone. Senior: I just graduated, Class of 2022!!! I absolutely loved PAHS. The old-school wooden bathroom doors with names carved into them and the senior murals were the cherry on top of a wonderful high school experience. The teachers were overall okay. Some were incredibly inspiring and deserve to be professors! Some didn’t do their job. I felt very welcome in every classroom. My teachers were my best friends. Alum: As a graduate of Tamaqua Sr. High in 2004, my overall experience is excellent. Great support, understanding, and education from most faculty. They prepped and provided me the opportunity to attend LCCC with the Morgan Scholarship. The AP courses provided at the Sr. High level are wonderful. This is a great school if you care to actually take the time to be involved in your studies and educate yourself. There are always extra credit opportunities available to gain even more knowledge for college or your general future. Just ask your teachers for assistance and they are always more than willing to assist you! If you want to be involved in music and sports an any additional extra curriculars, these are available as well. Most importantly, remember this is high school and everyone will have a different level of experience. Senior: My experience with Tri-Valley School District can be summed up in one word, unique. We’ve experienced multiple diversities thrown at us as students, each allowing us to learn and grow in different ways. At Tri-Valley you also get the opportunity to be a part of an amazing club, FFA also known as Future Farmers of America. FFA is a very unique and amazing club I think anyone who gets the chance to be a part of it should definitely take the opportunity and go with it. Another way we are unique at Tri-Valley is we are a very small public school with graduating class sizes of 64 to maybe 106, being the biggest graduating class to ever go through Tri-Valley, but that doesn’t stop us from being very successful, both academically and athletically. We have competed at challenge 24 over the years with multiple students through various grades and also compete at quiz bowl with the top students in each grade. Alum: Shenandoah Valley was a very good school that I have attended now for the past 14 years. I started pre-school at Shenandoah Valley and have stayed in the same school since then, never wanting to transfer out or change districts ever. I have made great friends with my peers, teachers, and administrators along the way. I took on many challenging classes throughout my many years of learning at Shenandoah Valley and have always earned Perfect Honors (A’s and above) on my report card. I graduated Shenandoah Valley with a finally weighted average of 100.7 and a 4.0 GPA which has earned me to 4th in the class out of 76 graduating students. Another amazing thing about Shenandoah Valley is the fact that once I started my senior year I was able to take colleges courses from LCCC ( Lehigh Carbon Community College). I ended up taking four courses which included Psychology, English and Composition, Sociology, and Speech. I have now graduated with 13 college credits and was on LCCC’s deans list....
