Junior: My life at Southeast of Saline has been very comfortable. Southeast of Saline(SES) is a smaller school. Even though we are a smaller school, we are a tough and diverse school. Being able to enjoy sports and the different clubs is amazing. The students at SES are very considerate people. Most people there care about me. Since the school is smaller everyone knows everyone. Senior: I have attended Salina South High School all 4 years. I was on the basketball team from 7th grade at Salina South Middle School and played through my sophomore year at South High. The coaches are very involved with the younger and older levels of the game. I have also played volleyball starting in 7th grade and played through my senior season. The amount of friends you will make through being involved in sports, art, and music is incredible. The teachers are always willing to work with their students, even with situations that are outside of school, to help them be successful. Junior: My school is average. 30 minutes away from Salina, KS; it's not in the middle of nowhere, but it's not in town either. It's nothing special to the rest of the world. However, my school is special to me. This school is where I learned to start loving sports rather than just academic clubs. This school taught me how to socialize, and how to have fun even when in stressful situations. Yes, my school is boring, but at the same time it is so much more. Ell-Saline may be small, and widely unheard of, but to me, my school is amazing. My school taught me that everyone starts in insignificant places, everyone has to mean nothing to the world at the start, but it's what we choose to do to improve the world, and to take a stand, and to make our mark on this world, that sets us apart from the rest.
