Alum: Spending all 12 years in Milton School District was challenging in its own positive way for me. Having ADHD and trying to focus in school was hard, yet somehow every year the amazing teachers found a way to keep me on pace, focused during class, and most of all retain the information they taught me. I feel that is because the teachers have a great system of switching their lessons up whether that means we read, watch a video, or even do a group/class activity. At some points it seemed like each lesson was different in its own way and that's what ultimately caught my attention and kept me entertained while doing my schoolwork. I wasn't mentally exhausted everyday because we only had 44 minutes of each class. While having its advantages, the only disadvantage I saw in this process was we had very limited time in between classes, and to eat at lunch time. Senior: Edgerton school district has its flaws like all do, but is mainly an impressive school. Most of the staff are very understanding and it is obvious they care about their students and teaching is more than a job to them. The counseling offices are also very helpful. Not only is it an impressive academic school, but the sports programs are also well-rounded. The coaches are intense because they care and kids who play really love what they are doing.... Senior: It is a very small community which allows for personal connections to be made between students and teachers. The high school also has a decently wide array of class choices compared to the size of the school and staff. One thing that could be improved is the relationship between students and administration. Alum: I had amazing teachers during my Janesville, K-12 education. I always felt supported, understood and encouraged. There were amazing opportunities within the arts and extracurriculars that were great experiences. I wish that the school district was more supportive of teachers and their well being, that students had better mental health education and support, and that arts were supported to the same extent as sports.... Senior: I really like how close the teachers are with their students. This makes the classroom environment very easy going and open. I feel that if I ever need help with anything the teachers will always be there. The only thing that I would change would be the lack pf class options. I understand it is a small school and so that makes it hard to offer a variety of classes, but it makes it difficult to make a schedule when I have taken all of the classes that they have offered that hour. Senior: Throughout my time at Turner, I’ve had an overall positive experience! The teachers do their jobs well, and value their students thoughts and opinions when it comes to the classroom environment. There are multiple teachers I feel comfortable enough to talk to about any issues I’m having whether it’s school related or even not. There are some policies in place that I disagree with that keep me from a 5 star review. To name one, neighboring schools in our area have open campus lunches and the ability to leave during study halls/free periods during the day, but our district does not. This would be very beneficial for a lot of our students, and I’ve spoken with friends from these other schools that really appreciate that privilege. Overall, I think our high school is a pretty safe atmosphere and definitely the right place for you if you’re looking for a smaller school and learning environment.... Read 19 reviews

Senior: The Beloit School District gets a bad reputation, but really is a great place to go. The district has a very diverse set of kids and everyone is able to find a welcoming group to accept and befriend them. At the high school I'm not sure that I've ever seen an instance of bullying. Our school's teaching staff is interesting, as some of the teachers could care less about jobs, while others are world-class teachers who would stand out in the best school districts. The thing that they all have in common though is that they all care about the kids and what is best for them. I wouldn't trade my time in the Beloit School District for anything, despite the many changes that need to be made.... Read 57 reviews
