Parent: The Hill School is what every parent dreams a school should be for their child, but most wouldn't believe existed any longer. Hill School teachers are highly skilled educators who continually keep parents involved in their child's education and have the ability to teach students in such a way that they LOVE going to school. Children are given the opportunity to participate in sports, theatre, the arts, etc, with the intended goal of making each child well rounded in all areas of life. In addition, the core curriculum is excellent, with many hands-on experiences and outdoor learning and activities as an integral part of keeping children excited and engaged in the learning process. The faculty and staff are also amazing. Always available to listen and quick to help and solve whatever issues might arise. Alum: I attended The Williams School (TWS) in Ghent from second to eighth grade. It is without a doubt the most special and most rewarding educational experience I have had throughout my academic career which, to date, spans an undergraduate degree and a graduate degree. Small class sizes foster deep, long-lasting connections with peers, teachers, and other faculty and stimulate creative learning across the board. Faculty at TWS truly go above and beyond for each student and work tirelessly to make sure each student's individual needs are met. Their dedication builds a level of trust in other and in self that further empowers students to be proactive not only in their education, but also in their personal and social development. TWS provides extracurricular opportunities during a pivotal developmental period that, at larger schools, students may frankly not have the opportunity to fully experience (athletics, forensics, music); students are completely immersed.
