Senior: I've attended school in Wayne Township at Chapel Hill 7th&8th Grade Center starting in the eighth grade. I've of course continued on to go to the ninth-grade center and I'm currently a senior at Ben Davis Highschool. The entire campus is extremely diverse, I always feel included with others and we all relate to each other with some things. I think the clubs and organizations are amazing, the music department and sports are the best way to connect with other students and make friends. The academic side of this school is great, with many great teachers, who all come from different racial backgrounds and they all teach great. However, I do wish there were more ways for us students to get help in terms of our mental health. Of course, we have counselors, and a little hide-out to go to when we feel stressed or anxious, but I never knew about that room until I reached my senior year of Highschool. But I do think this is an amazing school, and I enjoyed every second of my time on campus.... Read 39 reviews

Freshman: My experience as a current student within the Pompton Lakes School District was amazing. My teachers were amazing and supportive and I hope to get even more amazing teachers this school year! Something that I love about Pompton Lakes School District is that the teachers and students here are very encouraging of kindness! Parent: My wife, kids, and I recently moved to Clifton from NY and enrolled our kids in the public schools. We were a little stressed with the move, but the registration process was pretty painless. Everybody was really helpful especially since my son's records weren't sent from his old school. They started elementary and middle school without a problem and really like it so far. The teachers and admin are helpful and professional in both of my kids' schools and helped them adjust to changing schools. We attended an open house at the high school for my middle school child and were very impressed with the clubs, activities, athletics, and courses offered at the high school. Alum: Overall my experience at HHS was quite good, most teachers I had really cared about their students and doing all that they could for them. While there are some who seem to be there only for the paycheck, I luckily did not have to deal with too many of them. I would say there is a lack of preparedness for higher math levels though, I learned practically nothing of use in Algebra 2 for going into Pre-Calculus, the teacher was not that effective at her job, it was not just me experiencing this but my class as a whole. The Pre-Calculus teacher had to teach alot of things that we simply missed in Algrebra 2 that we were failed to be taught properly. On another note, the sports are quite good! Senior: I thought West Milford provided a good learning environment and the teachers were the best. The teachers worked hard to give every student the best opportunities to succeed and worked one on one to make this happen. The best part was the community built, from the students and staff to coaches and janitors, everyone was welcoming and made you feel included. West Milford will always hold a special place in my life, but there are a few changes needed. There is always rumors and bullying and harmful things roaming the halls so I think that needs to be stopped but other than that, this school provided me a fantastic four years.... Read 50 reviews

Junior: The education is excellent if you actually listen and pay attention. The are some teachers who don't really know how to interact with their students. So it makes it a little difficult to learn. There's not to many clubs but there is a lot of sports. The safety is good needs improvements. Every school in paterson is very diverse. The food is not that good but it's okay mostly like 35% don't even eat at school. New resources is highly needed but we are still able to learn. Facilities are amazing . Senior: I have been living in Passaic City for almost 5 years now, I was not born here but my experiences here have been fairly nice. The people here are diverse, you will see different people from different backgrounds and nationalities. People here say that immigrants start their journey from Passaic because it feels like their home. Which I think is true. I am an immigrant myself, and when I came here I felt like home because people around are welcoming and know the real meaning of struggle. We all have come here to achieve something from life. Even though I am not here to live my entire life, This place is where I became friends with amazing people and learned many things. Middle School Student: This is a very amazing school. I grew up as a child in this district from pre k to 8th grade, and let me just say it was amazing. The staff is extremely nice to children, and the principle might be strict, but he treats the students well and prepares them for later in life. Parent: Great school! Good teachers, principal, vice principal, ETC. Overall, pretty good, and all the teachers except a selected few are very understandable. Just to point out one teacher (Science), not to say exact name, but she is very good at teaching, and unlike another teacher who stays all day on her phone (hint hint, technology) I think she never rests and she always teaches, and is the opposite of lazy. The school is great but I hope to see improvement in: .Classroom looks (neatness, cleanliness, etc) .Student behavior (strictness to bullying, cursing, inappropriate behavior, etc Not a lot more, honestly. But instead of changing West Paterson, the old town name, to Woodland Park, which cost millions, fix up the libraries! Get more books to the public library and school library! Also, another UP is that every 5th and 6th grade student carries around a computer in a case, so you can always go on the computer in class when the teacher lets you for LEARNING purposes. Senior: It is a great high school for people who are looking for a career based learning. It is focused and gives you the tools you would need to get started in your field of choice. It does have its downside at being very intense but if that is what you are looking for then that’s great for you. It has some of the best teachers I’ve ever had my whole schooling experience so far, and they provide you with plenty of resources to better your learning experience!... Read 5 reviews
