Senior: East Lyme was an amazing experience! The school pride, academics and teachers were all amazing. At East Lyme you feel like one big family. As a student you are able to get assistance from teachers when every you need it and they make sure there is time throughout the school day to do so. The library staff is helpful and caring. There are very few thing that I would like to change but one is communication. As a student as a underclassmen I often felt that I did know information about dues or psats. Senior: I’ve been going to Waterford schools for all my life. I’ve never really had any problems with Waterford. All the people in the community are nice people. I’ve always had the help I needed provided to me by the wonderful teachers I’ve had over the past 13 years. There is many sports available and different clubs provided to us. I am involved in a couple different clubs and I’ve had the best experience with them. I wouldn’t change my school district if I had the chance because of how great Waterford has been to me!... Senior: The North Stonington School District is wonderful. They classroom sizes are very small and students become close with teachers. The high school and middle school share a building. Alum: I found Stonington to prepare me for college. I pushed myself and took harder classes, but it definitely paid off. If you care about your work and try your best, you will do well. Teachers are very willing to help when you reach out and I definitely advise reaching out to them when you have questions. Athletics are good at the school, I met some of my closest friends from sports. Sophomore: I had moved to the Groton school district half way through 6th grade for the most part it was ok, they offered support then I eventually started high school. Junior: I really have enjoyed my time at the Colchester Public Schools, and I have been attending since I have been in kindergarten. I love how many activities they have to peak kid's interests, and most of teachers have been wonderful. At the high school level there have been a boatload of AP classes I can take, which I have definitely been doing. Although the schools may not be the best, and most up to date or polished, the teachers make the experience worth it. Eventually you learn to laugh that your locker won't open because it's 30+ years old and the lock sticks! And they are remodeling the middle school so that is pretty exciting for the younger generations. Overall my experience in the school district has been positive for the most part.... Read 7 reviews

Parent: Our 3 girls attended Ledyard Public Schools from 2001-2016. Our family was greatly blessed by many wonderful teachers, paraprofessionals. Two daughters participated in swimming and one in fencing at the high school level. The coaches and parents provided good support and built team morale. Ledyard High School is well known for its music programs, diverse choruses, instrumental music, and drama programs. Ledyard HS has a variety of clubs with many opportunities for community service. Parent: As a parent of 3 students attending the Griswold School System, ranging from elementary to middle school I feel that it is the Academics and Teachers that hold this school system together. The Academics are phenomenal, from Math, to Science and English. Even the Arts and music programs are the best I've ever seen. The teachers are amazing, and TRULY focused on developing each child's needs. The overall administrations dept. need some help. I feel that they cover a lot of issues up and don't regularly report issues that NEEDS to be addressed. The Diversity in this district is very intimatiding and I'm actually shocked at the recent grade of a B, especially after the numerous incidents that happened last school year alone that I know took place, reported but never followed up by the administration. Alum: I attended New London Science & Technology High School. I highly recommend this STEM school. It not only offers engineering & computer science but you can attend classes at local colleges [Connecticut College, Mitchell College, and programs at the Coast Guard]. They also have a robotics program that was a lot of fun while providing great experience and opportunities for learning, resume building, and scholarships. The atmosphere was supportive and rewarding and the teachers were encouraging and enjoyed exploring the latest advancements in technology. The staff is progressive and always looking to develop new programs and find ways to attract the science, college, and business communities into the school. I earned college credits which help me working towards my degree. I advise anyone to find a STEM high school, if you want to be more prepared for college and your future. It is worth it!...
