Freshman: I love the school... The teachers are super encouraging and helpful. There are so many different classes for all interests. The students at the school aren’t too great though. A big majority of students are either complete bullies, or just super rude and distracting. Nobody stands up to them... Nor do the teachers pay good enough attention to the problems that are being stirred by the students. The teachers baby the students. They don’t push them to be better. It’s unfair and it doesn’t help them prepare for the real world. Additionally, the club options are terrible. There are maybe 10-15 clubs in total. None of them seem enjoyable. I’m not sure if it has to do with funding problems or just lack of student interest... But the clubs are quite boring, which makes it hard for me to stay well rounded.... Read 11 reviews

Senior: There seems to be no real form of discipline to disrespectful children. Kids get let off of the hook way too easily for things at times, as do teachers it seems. Other than that, the staff is pretty approachable and they’re willing to give you an ear for the most part. The teachers are pretty good with helping students in need. The school does try pretty hard with including all of the students in activities and sports, giving a wide selection for the little income area to enjoy.... Read 4 reviews

Senior: I have always went to Amsterdam school ever since Kindergarten. The people that I have met in Kindergarten, I still am friends with them to this day. The teachers that work there are more than just teachers, they become part of your life and sometimes even your best friend and the only person you can talk to when you feel like you have nobody. Two of my teachers from 3rd grade and 5th grade I still look up to and they have been an inspiration to me ever since. My experience at The high school has been great, I have gotten the help I needed when I needed it and even though I don’t have many friends there, I do know for sure that if I ever needed help that whole school would have my back. If I could go to Amsterdam High school for more than One year and have more time there, i would. When teachers and staff say “Time flies by and make sure to take it all in before it is over” listen to them. There is no re-doing it.... Read 12 reviews
