Parent: As a working parent of two students during the pandemic, I would have to say that Wyoming has done a tremendous job balancing safety for both students and staff along with maintaining excellent instruction for all students, whether in-person, remote or hybrid. We have always been impressed with the quality of the teachers our children have had in the classroom. This year they have all risen to the challenge and our students (3rd and 6th grade) have continued to learn and progress despite the plethora of challenges presented by the pandemic. The approach of educating the "whole child" is evidenced by the inclusion of the extraordinary arts and music programs within the curriculum. Parent: My kids were in the district 2007-2015 before we moved to IHSD. I still think FHSD's approach to gifted math/science may be the best model in the Cinci area. Being in a core subject with all gifted students left a lasting benefit in work ethic, confidence, and self-acceptance. At the MS, I was terribly disappointed to find that in an era of mass customization, they failed just as much as any other large district to leverage their size to offer more than basic differentiation. The ES literature/writing program was disappointing for advanced/gifted. My younger kids might have benefited from staying in the district through ES, but my oldest needed to continue to be in classrooms where competition with other students wouldn't allow her to coast. Sadly the damage caused to our mother-daughter bond by the woke undermining beginning in MS was only understood and mended after college. I wish the best to the new school board.... Read 56 reviews

Sophomore: The school culture is extremely inviting and positive. The teachers and administrators are very supportive of everyone, and the counselors do an excellent job working with individuals to ready them for post-secondary education. The facilities are somewhat outdated, but are still comfortable. There are numerous sports and clubs, so that there is something for everyone. Senior: There are many different choices for classes. There are different levels of classes and they offer almost any class imaginable at Oak Hills. The lunches are not bad but they are not the best. the lunches are edible and are sometimes good. The school is big and there are many different types of people. There are many extracurricular activities for many different types of people. We have a lot of sports teams, a baking club, no craft club, NHS, health professionals club, and many more. At Oak Hills it is easy to find something that you have fun doing and fit in somewhere. However, the class rank system at Oak Hills is not the best. The person who has the highest number grades in the hardest classes may end up ranked below someone with lower number grades in easier classes. Senior: As a student who is about to graduate this year I can say they now have wide selection of electives that you can choose between from which I find the list to be very excellent give a range from Home/College 101 to Forensic Science to the Arts! In high school you’ll most likely be prepared for life outside of school with the range of electives. I only give it 4/5 because of the fact that teachers and staff will have favorites and majority of the time it’s the “preps” of the school and school lunches have been fluctuating between being good to not so very good..... Alum: The Reading school district is fairly small, and it shows. However, while Reading may not be a massive school with opportunities around every corner, it is nonetheless a respectable and generally solid place to receive one's high school education. By and large, the teachers are dedicated, friendly, and knowledgable. The administration is helpful and fair. Clubs and sports, while limited due to the size of the school, are present for those who wish to seek them out. The facilities have been massively improved due to the construction of the new building. Overall, it's hard to complain about my experience with Reading. Senior: I’ve been in the Princeton District my whole life. It really is amazing, we have well-funded organizations, well-spoken staff and well-taken care of areas. We take in good people and make people better here. Dealing with all kinds of people is also great, the diversity is amazing. Doing what you love is encouraged here as well. It’s great knowing there are people on your side and people who care about what you want to do. Who you are a person is welcome, “come as you are” they say! Senior: Norwood has always been such a collaborative community. Whenever anyone is in need, even a stranger. Someone is always willing to lend a hand to their local folks. The only downside is the roads. Our roads can almost feel as if it's a rollercoaster. Always trembling apart or bumpier than bumper cars at Kings Island. It just can create major difficulties for new drivers, elder drivers, or even just difficulties for our car tires! ALtogether, the positive community is amazing! Senior: I love the Cincinnati City School district. I just wish there more sports, like I attend Hughes STEM High School, and I would have loved a soccer team. Other than that, they have classes that actually prepare you for college, and you can take college classes that allow you to get college credit while still being in High School which is an amazing opportunity. It doesn't cost anything, so the only thing you need to do is keep your grades up! They offer so many programs, the school is very accepting, and everyone here knows each other closely. It's a close-knit family, and it's something I will never forget. Hughes also offers different pathways for students which are Health, I.T, Engineering, and Zoo. I am currently in Health taking the School-to-work program which allows me to work in the TriHealth hospital closely with doctors that allow me to see into the future career I wanted. Sophomore: I am currently attending a school within the Northwest Local School District. The school is Northwest High School, it is a great school offering many academic opportunities for students. Including AP courses, CCP, and Honors. There are people who attend the school, of all races, religions, and backgrounds. While this is a good school there is one thing I do think could change. One of these things being the school lunches. Many people (including me) say that the food they serve is an issue since most isnt preferably good. Junior: My experience with Winton Woods High School by far has been the best school experience I've ever had. To be more specific, the school faculty are caring and cater to your educational needs. The counselors work with students to aquire the academic requirements students must have to graduate, while simultaneously offers essential advice. Furthermore, they work with teachers and parents to figure out what are the best ways to help students succeed. Another component that I find fascinating about Winton Woods is the system they use. The school uses group based learning, which gets students ready to work in a group environment. Also, they offer therapy and accommodations to students the need it. Personally, I find the clubs/activities at Winton Woods astonishing. I have always wanted to participate in after school activities. Senior: As a student at Lockland, I must say overall a great school with great class sizes. Students will feel welcomed just like at their own homes. They have a good selection of classes. They have a great variety of classes also. The high school teachers are great. They are very caring and involved in your learning. You just have to be willing to learn. They love students that are willing to learn and do the right things. Once a month they give out rewards to students who showed pride in the school as students which motivate you to do better. It's always something to look forward to at Lockland. With Lockland being a small community surrounded popular schools like Wyoming and Princeton not many children attend Lockland High-school. I live in Lockland so Lockland was my top choice. Lockland now have open enrollment, So if you live outside of the radius you can still apply to lockland. Students come from everywhere.
