Senior: I spent all twelve years of my education at CISD. Throughout elementary school, middle school, and early high school, I was part of the district's gifted and talented program, which encouraged students to further their individual learning both in and outside of school. The selection of courses available at the high school level is incredibly diverse, and almost all of the teachers here teach because that's their passion. In high school, I was part of the band and drumline, both of which were amazing programs that did amazing things. As someone who was part of (and founder of) several clubs, I'd say there is absolutely something for everyone. Our athletics teams, arts programs, STEM programs, and other activities developed a reputation in our area as some of the best of the best. All in all, Coppell Independent School District is host to many incredible learning opportunities for children, and I would definitely recommend the district to those who want the best for their children!... Senior: The High School has been recently renovated so the hallway congestion is much better. It is easy to make it to class if your classes are at opposite ends of the building. Students do not use hallway lockers, everyone carries backpacks. Transferring classes is easy if you follow the procedures. Classroom size is good and overall teachers are high quality and care about their students success. You need to have specific questions to attend tutorials, so that could be better. Parking around the school is tight, there is only one main parking garage and it is mainly for seniors. Security is great and the sucurity guards are friendly. The school trys to promote an all-inclusive atmosphere. There are tons of clubs so everyone at the school can find something to join and be part of a group. AP classes are very challenging. Senior: I've been enrolled in the Richardson Independent School District since fall 2015. Since then i've had multiple ups and downs attending schools in this district. As a young black girl there is racial discrimination, unfairness, and bullying. Some schools don't do anything about it. I'd like to see some real leaders stand up to racial discrimination and bullying, especially to young black children in predominantly white neighborhoods and attend the predominantly white school. Moving to more diverse schools like Richardson High School really made a difference, they don't discriminate and they have many opportunities for minorities in school and for people who struggle with success.... Freshman: Overall, my experience with Harmony Public Schools in North Texas has been positive. The teachers are very supportive of the future and well-being. The environment is very safe there. I do feel that the charter schools like Harmony School of Innovation, could be supported with financial aid. In my opinion, I hate seeing my schools donating to other schools, and we don't even get anything back. My school cannot even afford a gym. Senior: For the past 12 years, I've remained enrolled in the cfbisd school district. Throughout those years my education and well-being have been a priority to those in charge of the school board system. It's clear that they want the best for the students of the Carrollton farmer's branch and are dedicated to improving what is needed. Although academics are important in a school district there have been many other qualities I've enjoyed. For example, our school spirit at Newman smith high school is so impressive and brings us together to represent our school. Although we may not win many football games, we always managed to keep a smile on our faces and have fun. The diversity in our school district is amazing! We managed to make clubs that can support those who share the same background and struggles. Parent: Overall MISD has been a good experience for my children's education. I am pleased building are being updated and technology is improving. I would like to see more school spirit and support for all athletes and activities, not just football. I think they need to work on a better quality and variety of food being served especially in the middle school and high school. They definitely need to work on the duties of the high school counselors. They should acutally reach out and get know their students and parents and be there to assist students moving to higher education or career training. Being able to reach people through technology is important and easy, but a little bit of care and personal touch would be nice. Junior: Honestly, my overall experience of GPISD is pretty good. Don't get me wrong, there are a few people who make the experience here bad, but that's just how it is everywhere else. There are always those few who ruin things for everyone. However, there a numerous things that make this district good. First, the district is very strict on security: watching people who enter the schools, making sure everyone wear IDs, no hoodies on, and etc, although annoying to most students. Second, many people don't know this, but this is one of the few district who PAY for AP tests. Students are not required to pay $60+ dollars to take it, it is al for free, payed by the district, and I know some very hardworking people who work behind the scenes to make this happen. Senior: During my time in Duncanville High School, I was given the opportunity to enter an early college program my sophomore year. Senior: A + Academy has been a positive experience for me. In addition to offering dual credit courses, A + Academy offers a good number of career-supporting classes. Given that I have attended this school since Pre-K, it has been an excellent school. Since I would go for hours without eating, I would want to see a modification in the lunch menu. Senior: My four years at DesotoISD have had it's ups and downs. My freshman and sophmore years were exciting and new to me in high school. I had challenging classes that I overcame and managed to make a great GPA. I enjoyed being involved in the male chorus and participating in performances. During my junior year I participated virtually due to the pandemic. The virtual experience was new and different for everyone, but I managed to maintain my grades and I was inducted in to the National Honor Society. This kept me motivated to continue striving to do my best in class no matter how different this experience was not only for me, but all students. Now that I am a senior and back face to face in the classroom, I am getting to know more students and trying to get involved in school organizations. Alum: Evolution is an amazing school to help students make up their credits in high school. It gives students a second chance to attend school and earn a high school diploma. I knew some students who dropped out of high school because they were pregnant, had difficulty at home, or couldn't fit into the regular high schools. The teachers at Evolution were beyond nice and welcoming to all students. They knew how hard the students had it in the past so they were very patient to teach and share knowledge as well as life advice. They knew the potential each student has and always encouraged the students that anything is possible as long as we're willing to do it. They helped me find the confidence and strength that I was lacking. In the end, I graduated as a Salutatorian in my graduating class. That was something I never would have imagined in my life.
