Senior: Dallas Center Grimes School District has reasonably strong academics with most of the teachers wanting you to succeed and willing to work with you to support your educational endeavors. Athletics are strong across many sports though nepotism or favoritism is rampant throughout. Some coaches know that this is the case but refuse to make the needed changes in themselves to facilitate fairness for all. Many students are entitled and spoiled, although you can see that most are also supported academically and athletically from strong home life. There are drugs and alcohol usage along with promiscuous behavior among a large portion of the student population but over all I would guess it to be less than that of other affluent nearby schools. Alum: Adel Desoto Minburn was a great school to grow up in. The staff and faculty had a common goal of wanting to see the students succeed in every aspect of their life, and they strived to achieve that goal. The size of the district grew substantially during my time there, and the administration did a great job of accounting for these changes. They made sure to not only grow ADM so that it had a larger outreach and impact, but it also made sure that it didn’t lose its small town school feel. Parent: This is a great school in a great community. The teachers and staff go above and beyond for the students. I have personally experienced their willingness to go the extra mile with both of my children that attend WG. This was shown especially with my oldest child who required special ed, as well as other resources from pre-k through 6th grade. He has improved greatly in his academics, as well as with his social behaviors. I truly believe he wouldn't have come as far without the support from Woodward-Granger School District!... Senior: What I like about Perry High School, is that we get together through tough times. They made a “scope the loop” for the seniors. It showed a picture of all the seniors and the teachers were all there waving at us, showing support. I love my town!... Read 10 reviews
