Parent: Allen ISD has been such an amazing place for my daughter. All of her teachers have been great. School districts aren’t miracle workers and they need the support from the community in order to thrive. I had great communication with all of her teachers except one. They were quick to squash some unacceptable behavior from my daughter and a couple of her “friends”. What made the difference was that I supported their decision! Allen is unique in that they provide some really unique opportunities for students but students must want to take advantage of the opportunities and parents expectations need to be realistic. Sophomore: Personally, this school had given me so much opportunity. Like other schools the more you put into it, the more you get out; however, if one doesn't put in much effort they will still be rewarded with experience. The teachers are all hardworking and communicate with you. Your education takes primary importance however well roundness is a virtue of this school. All the sports, academics, fine arts, and student organization are well developed. The only downside is the lack of diversity among the student, particularly African American students, but this is connected to the demography of this region of Texas than the school itself. Senior: I've lived in Prosper my whole life and I love their schools. All throughout elementary school I loved it, prosper is a very social school district and has so much going on and you can get involved with anything. Middle school was hard for me, but I had resources available to me during middle school because I was going through a rough patch. I was at 2 high schools during my 4 years in high school. I attended prosper high school during my freshman year and it was an okay experience but it got ruined by the death of my dad and covid-19. I moved to the new high school that opened up in 2021, Rockhill, and I loved it. The staff there is super supportive and always considers students' mental health before just their academic ability. I got involved in student council, and track and field and loved the experience as a whole. Senior: Overall, my experience has been good. There are some issues with lack of easy access to information, like knowing whether you're exempt from certain exams or being aware of certain events or clubs, that I wish would be improved. At some levels there is a lot of academic pressure and cheating is relatively frequent. I wish that education could be more focused on the process of learning than just focusing on demonstrating "knowledge" (which leads to cheating), but that's more of an overall problem with the current education system.... Junior: Melissa ISD is an amazing place to have your children. They are constantly improving facilities and programs, and with a new middle school and new high school additions, as well as the elementary schools being built, the district will remain amazing for some time. The academics are excellent, and the only thing the district could improve on is some of the administration decisions on things like Mega Lunch at the High School and the academic calendar, which frequently take heat from many parents in the district. Senior: One of my favorite things about MHS is how many electives and AP classes we have. By having a multitude of classes to pick from, it allows students to explore different hobbies and expose kids to future career paths. One of the worst parts about MHS is the core class teachers. They don't really care about their students or the subject they teach. Also, kids in athletics, especially football, basically get a free pass to pass their class so they can continue to play games. That's not fair and their grade is not rightfully earned. I would like to see teachers put more effort to teach their classes well and help students fully understand the subject. Senior: As a student at Celina High School in Texas, I can confidently say that this school is an amazing place to learn and grow. The faculty and staff at CHS are incredibly supportive, caring, and dedicated to helping students succeed in every aspect of their lives. Senior: I have now been attending Anna ISD schools since kindergarten. I have loved the teachers and staff! Everyone is quick to solve any issues that may occur and are always on top of ensuring students' safety! While attending Anna ISD I have been involved in the cheer program for 6 years.
