Senior: Chico Unified School District is a highly professional body. It excels in preparing students for the next phase of their lives with CTE pathways, most notably in media, culinary and fine arts. The quality of teachers can very, but they do all have something different to offer, although at times it does feel as if that something different is worth offering. Despite that, however, this is more than made up for in availability in opportunity. Even when the teacher themself is not the best educator they allow students to experience an environment that can serve as an education tool itself. The only reason I cannot in good faith review the district as a prefect 5 stars is because it does have the traditional problems any district has. Although not an innate feature of humanity, misbehavior of students is present and uncontrolled in some cases. Alum: The enthusiasm of the teachers really generated energy from the students for learning, sports, participating in school events, and just enjoying their high school career. Many of the teachers would leave their doors open at lunch and break times to help any student who wanted it, or to just chat with those who need someone to talk to at lunch times! Senior: After the wildfire that struck our community, our school district kept it together and was able to make the rest of the year successful for students. I think that something that could change is communication. Niche User: My younger brother has struggled much of his school life, never having adequate resources for his learning needs. Often, he's been pushed from one special education program to the next, never getting the attention he needs to succeed. When we moved to Oroville, we expected to have this cycle repeated, more lengthy fights for what he should rightly have access to without much success. This was not the case, however. Not only do they have a program that he has thrived in, they really seem to care about his well-being and future. Since enrolling, he has made leaps and bounds academically. He has almost caught up completely, to the grade-level he should be at and actually enjoys doing his school work. The program offers the flexibility his needs require, without comprising quality. They've even helped him find his first job! He's on track to join a special program that will help him succeed with college as well. They've really helped my brother's life for the better....
