Alum: This school district provides students with a great education. Some of there schools have a few problems and are a little rougher than others but over all they are doing a good job. Most of the district problems occur on the east side. They have some good things happening but over all are struggling. Their schools have a difference from one school to another. You will see a different atmosphere from different schools that are just down the road from each other. The schools in Mankato have amazing teachers and staff. One good thing they do provide is a safe school that provides students with many resources to help their learning (technology, etc.).... Read 16 reviews

Senior: My experience at Maple River was very good. The reason why I enjoyed it so much was because my family has been going to this school when they were kids. I love the size and the location of this school also. It's a small school with great, friendly, loving teachers. Even though the school district is located in a small town, there is plenty to do because Mankato, Minnesota is just 20 miles north. The reason why I only gave it 4 stars was because it is an older school that is in despite need of a new school. Hopefully in the near future the voters will finally vote yes.... Read 4 reviews

Senior: I transferred to the Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial School District in elementary. I was the top of my class right away and often had to help my classmates understand different subjects. I'm happy I transferred because of the opportunities I get here. I wouldn't be in a leadership position in so many clubs offered if I hadn't transferred here. I'm able to get in 7 different college credit classes but not able to achieve over a 4.0 grade point average. I am happy with the way the school is run, although the administrative staff sometimes makes unfortunate decisions regarding weather permitted days off from school and when to schedule school events in regard to sporting events.
