Junior: Throughout the years, have enjoyed Rockwoods leadership and their engagement in their community. It feels like the district makes an effort to provide a nurturing environment for their students to achieve the greatest they can academically and prepares them for their life outside of school. I feel as though they make efforts to promote diversity, such as holding clinics and assemblies and getting input from their students regularly. Senior: The teachers and counselors in Forsyth County Schools are fantastic. They always know how to help you and solve any issues you might have. Teachers have very accessible office hours and by the end of the year, I’m proud to call them my friends. Forsyth County Schools also have phenomenal opportunities to join clubs, extracurriculars, and sports. Works Here: Davis has a great school district. Davis, a small city with about 30,000 residents and 32,000 college, grad students and post Ph. D researchers make Davis a great place to live. The most bicycle-friendly city in the US. It attracts the best and brightest to move here to raise their families. The student population can't be beat. Senior: I attend Cedarburg Highschool and in terms of academics and staff i feel like I have the best of the best! I have learned so much and those teaching me were always there to help if I needed it. Acedemics range from algebra to chemistry to theater to painting and even coding and robatics. It was also not hard to find extra curricular activities. There are clubs for everyone,some academic based and some sports and technology based. I always felt safe at school aswell. Not only does the school have and officer on site, but we are conveniently located 2 mins away from our local police department. The only thing i would improve at the school/district would be the food. Its just not good and i feel like there could be more healthy options. Overall my experience at Cedarburg has been great! Senior: I found Tomball to be a district of great compassion and warmth. I didn't feel like any of the staff were bad people and I found the students to all be quite supportive of each other. I am very fond of Tomball, and extremely proud to have been a part of what was such a magic experience. There are not enough words to describe my gratitude for this district. Alum: Fort Mill High was a very enjoyable school to attend. I thought every teacher I had really cared about my education and wanted me to do the best I could. Freshman: I am a freshman at Orange and I've gone to this school since kindergarten. I love the school- the food is not great and the people are nice. Our sports are not very good but our Marching band and Lionettes (color guard) are amazing. The libraries are great and I love the teachers. Our honors/AP program is terrific as well. There is amazing diversity and so many kids of different races, religions, and ethnicities. I will say that some of the kids do drugs, use slurs, but mostly everyone is really nice. People call our school the public-private school because the education is amazing. Our school spirit is ok. At football games, we have a student section and a great halftime show, but our football team is really bad. In the 2021-2022 season, I think we won 1 or 2 games and that was because we were playing against the worst team in our conference. Freshman: This high school is a solid choice for students looking for a decent education without any bells and whistles. The teachers are knowledgeable and committed to helping their students succeed. The curriculum is rigorous enough to prepare students for college, but not so overwhelming that they can't enjoy their high school years. Alum: I attended Elkhorn Public Schools K-12 and loved the district. I have had many positive experiences here and the school district really does prepare students for college. The academics can be rigorous at times, especially the amount of homework in the upper grades, but if you push through, you will be successful in college. Senior: I love the RCS community! I have moved to 6 different school districts throughout my childhood and this is by far the best. The teachers, students, and most importantly the administrators at Rochester Adams High School are like no other. Everything from academics to athletics are outstanding, and I feel so safe in this environment. All 3 RCS high schools hold a strong sense of community. There are so many clubs, activities, and extracurriculars that you are sure to find something you like. The staff makes every child feel at home. Alum: Although a few teachers graded harder than others, and days where going to school seemed like the absolute worst thing in the world, Pewaukee High School is a place where I would love to go back and a district where I would be happy to have my kids attend. There was never a day where I walked into school scared or concerned for my safety, and I never felt threatened by any means. In this day and age, safety should be taken extremely seriously, and Pewaukee Schools did that very thing. The teachers are incredibly prepared to teach, and I created many bonds with them. Senior: What I've thoroughly enjoyed about my time at Downers Grove South (D99) are the connections I've made with students and teacher within the school community. I truly believe that there is a place for everyone at South and North and that everyone can find something to not only get involved in but also to help themselves and their community flourish. Senior: Being a Carlsbad high school for four years is definitely something I could say that was the best community ever, the teachers and counselors are always in touch with you, and they never make you feel pressured to the point where you’re afraid to ask them any questions.Our school provides a vast amount of classes and truly my favorite is avid. Sophomore: I was student in the district for several years until moving out of state after 10th grade, and I thought the academics were very good. There is a variety of programs available in high school for ambitious students, such as STEM Academy and vocational training programs. In my experience the students and teachers are nice, and if you show interest in a class/subject, the teachers care and will encourage you. Eastern has a no phone policy during the day that is wonderful. Compared to my experience in a school with no such policy, it is much easier to make friends and focus on learning with Eastern's policy. I think the other schools have a less strict policy, but still much better than none. The diversity of the student body varies between the three high schools, Eastern and Central lack diversity while Northern has more. Senior: Overall, my experience at Midway has been great! The majority of my teachers have been absolutely fantastic throughout my education journey, and I truly believe I would not be where I am without them. I have had maybe three teachers out of the fifty total that were truly heinous, but I expect that to be true no matter where you go. If I could change one thing about Midway, I would change the racial diversity of both students and staff. I would guess less than 25% of the students and staff are people of color. This is not an awful statistic, but I feel like the school could benefit being more racially even. The teachers do a wonderful job of making sure students feel comfortable and adequate in their academics, and you can tell they truly want students to succeed. Midway is a wonderful school, and I've had great experiences in my time there. Senior: I enjoyed my high school experience at Shorewood, but I also know that my success and happiness have a lot to do with my race and interests. Shorewood is not at all diverse, mostly because the North Shore area of Milwaukee is predominantly white. I also have interests in music and the performing arts, and because of that, I was able to thrive in Shorewood's arts programs. However, they started to decline during Covid and now are just a fraction of what they once were when I started high school. Shorewood's campus and overall location is very safe. We are not at all good at sports and participation in sports teams is very low. Most of the teachers are good, and the school does a very adequate job of preparing you for college....
