Alum: Demarest ‘21 alum. This school prepares you for any school you want to intend including the Ivy League, military academies, the best public schools, and others. Most common schools my classmates went to were Rutgers, NYU, and Northeastern (where I am now.) Students usually attend Princeton, Cornell, and Penn every year. The rest of the Ivy League has been populated well, too. A 98th percentile SAT or ACT does not set you apart here. Students must beware the stress and imbalance possible here. Junior: My experience was a good one. Despite Newark is supposedly a bad city but the teachers there care about their students and they push us to surpass our own potential. I am very grateful to have the teachers I had over the course of my 3 years of high school. I am now entering my 12th grade of high school and will be graduating the year of 2021 with nothing but memories. All the stuff my teachers taught me I will most definitely carry that with me into my adult life. All the life lessons and examples they gave us I will remember. One thing NPS should change is to be more challenging when it comes to certain situations. If a person who constantly get A's in the class they should be promoted into a more difficult course than others. For example, the AP class.
