Junior: I've been in this district since I was in kindergarten, and most of the teachers and staff have been very helpful in finding a way to support my academic career. Some of my teachers have kept in touch throughout the years and have greatly impacted my life for the better. As for the curriculum, most teachers covered their subjects very well and prepared us for APs and finals. The only experience in this district that I did not find nurturing to the students were the political disputes. There were many times where district members would advocate for limiting certain education such as Critical Race Theory. Because of such bans on education and limitations of expression, countless students like myself would consider this part to be the most negative factor of attending a PYLUSD school.... Senior: I do like and enjoy being a part of this school district. I have great relationships with the teachers, staff and students. Though there would be things that I would like to see change. Such as the promotion on other sports. We have great sports teams on campus that don't get the promotion they deserve. Football here is promoted very well, even though the team isn't at all the best. But we have amazing soccer teams, basketball, volleyball and track teams. I would also say the treatment from the boys and girls teams are extremely different as well. An example of this would be the boys and girls basketball teams. The boys basketball team was promoted more and praised more during this school year, even though they didn't have the greatest season. But the girls team was amazing! They even made it to CIF, I do wish the promotion for girls sports was uplifted because I would have enjoyed supporting the team at games.... Read 97 reviews

Sophomore: It's overall a great district with many opportunities and inter-district events! I really like being a part of AUHSD. However, I do wish at some times for smoother and more convenient direct communication with the district, especially concerning important changes or ideas shared by many people in my school. Otherwise, I have had a pleasant experience with the Anaheim Union High School District so far! Senior: The best part of going to school within LAUSD was meeting a variety of people with different experiences. This in turn, allowed me to learn more about what hardships others experience and how it has affected them; giving me a different perspective of life. Additionally, the teachers I've had have demonstrated that they care about the students, and have taken the time to get to know them. The teachers would support students and give us any additional help when needed. The worst parts about going to school within LAUSD was the food given during lunch and the class sizes. The lunch given was not the best at times, which resulted in me bringing my own lunch to school. As for the class sizes, I believe that students would benefit from smaller class sizes. This would give teachers a bit more time with each individual student. Alum: I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I found a very welcoming community of students and faculty that are supportive and diverse. Navigating the new environment was easy and clear. The classes offered were taught by professional experts in their fields and had immense knowledge to share which I had learned a lot from. The variety of classes offered was intriguing to say the least and had opened up opportunities for a wider scope of paths to choose from. Not to mention the extra curricular activities that encompass many fields which elevates the college experience and cultivates well-rounded students across campus. Senior: I have been a student here ever since I enrolled here in 2008. It brought me nothing but all knowledge, happiness, my culture, my people and becoming my second home forever. I will always be grateful for this unique place for changing my life and my experience. It is a bittersweet feeling knowing that this year is my last year of being around here. The high school's Advanced Placement classes are top-notch thing that has ever happened to me. Their teachers are amazing, we all have this direct communication access instead of adding a third person to the party. It is just going to be a part of me forever and ever.
