Junior: Overall, Wayzata High provided a great experience! We were provided iPads to use and these were replaced every few years. The facilities were also relatively nice and clean, and most classes had an okay size: not too big or too small. There were also lots of class options like entrepreneurship or culinary, as well as many AP classes provided. Wayzata also had lots of extracurricular provided, from STEM focused ones to community clubs to business organizations. Students also had the opportunity to create their own clubs and eventually make them official. However, a few of the teachers at Wayzata didn’t seem to care about the students. One teacher got mad at students for asking questions, while another teacher seemed depressed and disconnected all the time. Junior: I am a junior in Northville High school. I came from abroad and did my freshman year in Northville. The students and teachers were welcoming and they helped me adapt to the new environment and way of life. Despite my language barrier, my teachers and friends helped me develop the English language. The best part of my experience was that I got to know many people through sports and it was easy to connect with them. Alum: EPHS was one of the best high schools for me. The staff genuinely showed their care for us. The supportive atmosphere fostered a sense of emotional well-being and belonging. Furthermore, the school actively encouraged extracurriculars and hobbies. There was a platform for every passion, whether it was sports, arts, or academic clubs. What stood out most was the connection between teachers and students. Most teachers were remarkably involved, going beyond textbooks to make subjects engaging. Junior: I've been in this district since I was in kindergarten, and most of the teachers and staff have been very helpful in finding a way to support my academic career. Some of my teachers have kept in touch throughout the years and have greatly impacted my life for the better. As for the curriculum, most teachers covered their subjects very well and prepared us for APs and finals. The only experience in this district that I did not find nurturing to the students were the political disputes. There were many times where district members would advocate for limiting certain education such as Critical Race Theory. Alum: Howard County Public Schools provide a great education experience especially when I was a student. I have been to two schools which were Howard and Long Reach High School. From my experience, the teachers and staff are interactive and will do their best in pathing you for success. I've had plenty of opportunities to grow my individual learning education, whether it'd be during class or after-school tutoring. Both schools showed a tremendous amount of school spirit with their sports and their club activities. The one thing that I would love to change is the school lunches. Senior: As a Trans person this school makes me want to run away and never come back. The amount of money and influence has left the island a drug fueled teen wonderland. However the education you wil receive on the Island is the best you can possibly get. I know more about most things then other people my age. Along with the huge amount of community service you can do makes my heart feel better. The educators are hit or miss on Bainbridge. Senior: The Issaquah School District is an overall nice and proper district in regards to educational practice. Teachers push their students to excel with strict curriculum while also aiding them for their failures. I have personally witnessed many teachers within the Issaquah School District as living in the Sammamish/Issaquah area my whole life has forced me to do so. I will say, there are definitely some unpleasant teachers but for the most part, the teachers serving in this community seem to genuinely connect and care for the well being of their student body. The "best parts" for me personally have been the constant push that these teachers give you, they look deep into their students and encourage them to do even better than what the students think is possible. Senior: I do like and enjoy being a part of this school district. I have great relationships with the teachers, staff and students. Though there would be things that I would like to see change. Such as the promotion on other sports. We have great sports teams on campus that don't get the promotion they deserve. Football here is promoted very well, even though the team isn't at all the best. But we have amazing soccer teams, basketball, volleyball and track teams. I would also say the treatment from the boys and girls teams are extremely different as well. An example of this would be the boys and girls basketball teams. The boys basketball team was promoted more and praised more during this school year, even though they didn't have the greatest season. Senior: I've been in Grossmont Union High School District for a really long time. Overall, I've had a really fantastic experience with this district. There have been a few problems where dangerous activities and people were near our campus, which would cause the school to lock all students inside. Other than the possible life-threatening people near campus on some occasions, Grossmont Union High School District is a great district to educate people. Not only does Grossmont Union High School help inform people, but it also provides great opportunities for students to figure out what they like and what they don't like. Junior: The Mounds View school district is a quality school district that continues to impress. Its teachers are caring, intelligent, and genuine. I've had particularly good experiences with my middle school teachers, which are heavily needed. The extra curricular activities at the high school level are well run and generally well funded. The largest downside of the district is the age of the buildings. The buildings have received some updates, but they feel like patchwork and often don't work with the rest of of the school. Senior: My overall experience with the St. Johns County School District has been enjoyable, and I particularly like the fact that the district cares about the arts at the school. For instance, when my school, Beachside High School, first opened this past year, the county bought all of our instruments and equipment for us. Additionally, they built for us an incredible band room and arts building with multiple backstage access points and ramps for moving larger items. Though I love the care and attention that my district put into the arts, I did not care for some of the ways they ran the academic side of school. Specifically, I found it frustrating how the district would curve grades on midterms, finals, and EOCs. Although this curve worked my benefit, as I am not much of a test taker, I found it gave me almost no motive to study as I knew that I was almost guaranteed to pass the test. Senior: Richland School District is incredible. The academics are wonderful, with a great staff and incredibly talented students. The athletics are also exceptional, with Richland Schools often winning local championships, and even performing well at State-wide competitions. The Richland School District is talented in the arts as well. I have had the opportunity to participate in each of these areas, and have been given the ideal circumstances to thrive and excel in each.
