Parent: We have 3 boys that have it are going through Stillwater Public School. Our oldest just graduated and is 100% a product of the school system. He has had the opportunity to be a part of an academic team, orchestra, swim team, honors class and lots of student groups. The support that has been provided to him from Pre-K to HS from teachers and administration is more than we ever anticipated. Our middle son, will begin Jr. High in August. He has special needs, Stillwater Public School has provided more services than we could have hoped for. He has flourished under the school systems guidance. Our youngest will begin 7th grade in August. SMS has provided him the opportunity to figure out what he likes and doesn’t like in a safe educational environment. Throughout this last pandemic year, Stillwater Public Schools adapted, gave, cared and did everything they could to provide for every student the needs of education, peace and hope. Alum: I attended Owasso schools from 6th grade to graduation, and thoroughly annoyed the school. The staff and teachers truly care about the students, not just their grades and attendance, but also their wellbeing, their home life, and their future. Most of the teachers I had wanted to make a difference in our lives, teach us how to succeed not just in the class, but how to become well rounded, mature adults who can contribute to society. The only downside was that arts and music sometimes got pushed to the back burner. As a 6A championship school in most sports, they heavily focused their efforts and money on the sports programs. The arts got a fair amount of funding most of the time, but when it came to replacing art supplies, purchasing new equipment for theater classes, or buying new computers for the yearbook department, they were a little more hesitant. Senior: I loved the community that I had the opportunity to find at DCHS, and I had some very amazing teachers. I felt like overall I could have had a better experience with the division between different groups of people. For instance, the band kids often being knows as outcasts as opposed to the football players being favored by both teachers and other students. Senior: I have attended Chisholm Public Schools since I was in Kindergarten. The staff and teachers really care about their student’s education. I have met some of my best friends here, and have learned that branching out and talking to different people is a great opportunity to take. Chisholm is a fairly small school, so it has the everybody knows everybody type of feeling. However, this sometimes makes finding new friends challenging. One thing I would like to see change is an increased effort about mental health awareness. Junior: Weatherford Public Schools is a wonderful school. The staff is amazing and cares deeply about one's success. The teachers in the high school have given up their time before and after school. WHS has established a program before school that is called "Eagle Time". For twenty minutes, students can work on their weaknesses with one's teacher one on one. After school, the teachers stay extra time for students to work more on their weaknesses. Senior: Velma Alma is the best school ever. I have always struggled with family and they are not there for me but the teachers of Velma are so amazing. They have basically raised me and have taken care of me. They are like parents to me and have changed my life forever. They have taught me so much on how to mature and to get rid of my anger problems. They were always there for me when I needed to cry and were always here to congratulate me when I did great. They have made me realize how important teachers are and how they can change a students life. I want to be just like the Velma teachers and teach with the same light the teachers of Velma have done for me. Junior: I love the variety of classes and sports that are offered at my school. We have College classes and Tech classes on campus as well. I have made so many great friends during my years at Union. Union supports band, sports, academics and technical trade learning all with great enthusiasm. I feel as though my teachers have always been supportive and encouraging of my choices. When I graduate I will have completed their medical science program. I think this is great program to help student decide if they are truly interested in the medics field. Union is a very diverse school and I love experiencing different cultural celebrations and walks of life. My younger siblings attend Union as well.
