Sophomore: EF is, for the most part, a very good school. I never had any issues with my teachers in elementary, excluding the art teacher (some of the teachers have changed since I've been in elementary, but I haven't heard anything bad). My personal experience in middle school was less than ideal, but the teachers and staff themselves were mostly very pleasant and helpful and the only teacher I had a serious issue with has left. The rules at the middle school are very strict and a bit overkill though, so be warned. High school has been a very pleasant experience so far. Almost all of my teachers have been wonderful, and the two I took issue with have either already left or will leave after this year. The UIL program is excellent and the concert band is rather good (we do fall behind in marching). Academically, it's a great school, but, EF is a small, conservative school in a small, conservative town. If you're looking for a queer-friendly school, this isn't it.... Read 15 reviews

Alum: I loved being a student in the Caddo Parish Public Schools system! I've attended them most of my life! My most precious memories were made attending CE Byrd High School! Our teachers were so caring and taught us extremely well! I feel prepared for university! I also made many great friends in Caddo Parish Public Schools! I didn't feel like I was just another number! I also enjoying being in the Talented Arts Program for Music! I had the best teacher ever! The academics were up to par! At my particular school, there were so many ways to get involved and enjoy student life! I think that everything varies from school to school, but my experience being a Caddo Parish Public Schools student was a good one! Of course, things were not perfect, but I am the type of person that just wants to make the best out of my personal experiences! I hope that others can share the same experience that I had!... Alum: waskom is a small town school, with a great student culture, where most everybody knows each other. While AP classes are offered they are not promoted nor encouraged as they should be. The teachers are wonderful and genuinely care about their students. Football and other clubs such as golf, fishing, ag, and ffa are widely known and have won many prizes and 2 state championships. Alum: I feel pretty nostalgic when I think of my time spent in Webster Parish. I went to a relatively small school, which meant everyone knew each other! Sometimes that was good, and sometimes it wasn't. Overall I enjoyed being a student there. The teaching staff is dedicated to the development of students and strive to see them succeed. Great programs, such as Dual Enrollment, is offered which ultimately saves parents a lot of money when sending their students to college.
