Alum: Goochland High School was an amazing experience. I enjoyed Goochland due to the activities provided to the students, the interaction between teacher and students, and relationships built with classmates. Sports was an escape for me from my school work load and home life it allowed for me get release negative energy in a positive way. My teachers were amazing! They always put in extra hours after school to help me in studying and understanding chapters that were difficult. Lastly, the students were my friends. We might not have always liked each other but we were always civil. I feel that Goochland needs to improve on their food in the Cafeteria.

Parent: Powhatan County schools are a good size. The classes are a good size and the teachers are very caring. They are very welcoming to military families and made us feel we had been attending school in the areas for years. I do wish there were more activities for the kids such as culinary courses, or dance classes. I also would like to see better sucuse prevenion measures and professional development for staff and student.

Senior: Hanover county public schools has many different opportunities for high school students and parents to better understand college. There are many events that teach high schoolers ways to plan and apply for post high school education. One thing that Hanover county public schools could work on is scheduling. I have experienced, along with many of my classmates conflicts in my schedule resulting in me having to drop certain classes. However, Hanover county public schools is a great school system that provides students with an excellent pathway into their future.

Senior: The teachers that work for Colonial Heights City Public Schools are amazing. Each and every one of them takes their time to genuinely help their students! I have made all A honor roll since second grade, when I moved here, and I would not have been able to do it without the help of all of my wonderful teachers! In high school there are many clubs. I believe there is a club for everyone. Everyone has somewhere they can fit in. Since the city is so small, Colonial Heights City Public Schools are a family.

Senior: My Chesterfield school has some great, encouraging teachers who love what they do and it shows in the expectations they put of us to prepare for college. School spirit is at an all time high this year, with each sport supporting other teams during off seasons. Friday night football games where the student section has a theme was so much fun and brought us all together. The diversity in my area has really prepared me for college and the career world where not everyone is the same or has the same thought process. The one thing I could see that needs significant change is for administration to bring in technology to assist with different processes. Everything that a senior would need for college applications or resources, should be accessed from the school website. Counseling forms should also be available online for atleast access, if not submission as well. The day of color coded printed forms has gone by. Let us all jump into the 21st Century with a smile. Senior: Since kindergarten, I've been attending Henrico County Public Schools. I truly believe that I owe my friendships and dedication to the amazing teachers and staffs I've grown up admiring while living in Henrico. In regards to the physical aspect, all three of the public schools I've attended were in amazing shape and were very nice learning spaces to comfortably adjust to. As for my true education and social ability, I really believe that I've broken out of my shell while growing up in my schools. I've had friendships that have last from elementary school until now, which is rare when put into perspective. I've also grown exponentially as a student. Although the material is tough, my high school teachers at Glen Allen have really been supportive and always available to help students, like myself. The spirit of Henrico County Public Schools is one that is very privileged to have such amazing people working within it all to benefit childrens' futures.

Senior: New Kent has been my home for the past 7 years. I have loved how the school community takes you in and really makes you feel welcomed. They are very good about safety and what to do when something terrible has happened. The teachers are great people to talk to and learn from. i really feel like they want to be there. The only negative part is that this is my last year here! I am very sad but excited that next year when I visit I will be an alumni.

Senior: Compared to the other schools in the area, Prince George in my opinion (a student from K-12th grade)has the best education. The classes are challenging. The teachers here actually show that they care about the students and I, along like others, develop life long relationships. You know the teachers care because every year during after finals at college, students are famous for coming back to visit teachers and administrators. We are a school full of military kids meaning that a bunch students come and go every semester, but this causes students to develop relationships with people from all over the country and with different backgrounds. Although, the school lunch, improved, is not the best, but their are microwaves at the secondary schools. Sports are great here, except our terrible (slight exaggeration) football teams. But track, girls soccer, and girls softball are the school's best sports.

Senior: I have enjoyed my time here at KWHS, I will honestly be sad to leave here and graduate. Our school system is nice, but there are some improvements and additions that need to be made. I think our school should offer a wider range of sports and clubs, so that everyone can be included in something. I also think our range of classes should be wider, so that it might help students prepare for college better by taking classes they like and are likely to major in.

Junior: Dinwiddie High School is a rather large school with approximately 1,400 students. Despite that large number, every student is a part of a southern, caring community. This school does not have many fights and has little to no bullying. Our School spirit is remarkable especially when it comes to football and other sports; stands are packed, concessions sell out, and the crowd is flooded with students and community members wearing school colors. The teachers truly care for student's success regardless of if they know them. I personally can say that I feel safe here, which says a lot especially considering high school safety concerns these days.

Senior: As a student of Hopewell Public Schools, I have had a wonderful educational experience in my elementary, middle and high school years. I was a student in advance classes in elementary school, moved to a gifted program in 4th grade, and continued in the gifted program throughout my middle school years. I the took advanced and AP classes in high school and have achieved greater than a 4.0 average overall. The teachers and principals have been fantastic and I will look back on my educational experience at Hopewell with a smile!

Alum: 2007 graduate. Sussex County (Sussex central high school- VA) didn't feel like the best when we were going ( because it was school and what kid likes school) but once I got to college I was truly appreciative of the teachers and everything we were taught because I was definitely ahead of my other freshman college classmates. I'm thankful I went to Sussex. Wonderful teachers like Mudd, Mrs.Byrd, Mr. Jefferson, Mr. Jones, Mrs. Crocker... And so many more make Sussex awesome!!

Sophomore: A lot of people say that Caroline High school is not a good school. To me, I believe that school is only as good as the people you surround yourself with. Since I have been here I have made some of the closest friends that I have ever had. I have had opportunities that I would not have gotten if I have went to some other school. As for academics they offer DE and advance placement classes. The diversity at the school has a wide range. The teachers try to teach they best they can. Caroline High School have a wide range of clubs and activities, you just have to join them! The sports teams are working really hard to get from good to great. They practice hard and play harder, a lot of the students go to games to show their support.

Alum: My years in Petersburg high school were great experiences. I was able to make it through high school with the help of my teachers. they've helped me after school hours and gave me tips on studying better, and getting me on the right track with my academics. They have an excellent tutoring program after school and it helped me with anything that i had troubles with with my class courses. I however do wish they would have more fun educational activities for students to engage in.
