Senior: At Grove High School, my classes have been small, and the materials taught were easy to learn. Most teachers care about their students' grades and attendance. It is very easy to become a member or start your own club/ organization. At Grove, sports involvement is very important. Most students that do not play sports are very supportive and spirited. The most valuable thing that I have gained from Grove High School is my direction and drive. Before coming into high school, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. Since coming into high school, many teachers have done exercises with the purpose of helping students figure out their strengths and weaknesses. It has also given me the passion of learning.... Niche User: I think Kansas public schools are great, they do everything they can to make sure you have the best education as possible. They make sure to be as inclusive as they can, respecting everyone as an individual. However I do wish they would work on bullying. Bullying still goes on in public schools, and unfortunately, I experienced bullying all through school, (K-12). When I would tell someone about, not much was done. Yes, the school does show videos about the effects of bullying and they try to talk to students about how it is wrong, but students still do it. I wish when a student is having trouble with bullying, the school(s) would sit down and talk with everyone involved and take the person being bullied, seriously and not just push it off. I also wish councilors would take their students more seriously, I went to my councilor a few times, and every time I felt as if I was being annoying, and like I was not important.... Read 17 reviews

Parent: Our journey began in Sprouts, then Early Childhood. The EC teachers created a space where my child felt welcome and loved. The daily, weekly, and seasonal rhythms changed our life. There’s meaning and intention in everything. Free play introduced social skills and problem solving. The EC program feels like your coziest blanket. Now in the grades, my child is an avid reader, making lifelong friends, and excited for school every day. The field trips are incredible experiences full of memories and skills to last a lifetime. Art and beauty are woven into every subject. Every child learns to ride a bike, participate in woodwork/handwork, play instruments, learn 2 languages, and recess is twice a day. Interacting face to face and growing relationships without screens is important to me. The community is diverse in many ways, which I love. Parent: Parent of two students - one current, one just graduated. More than a school: a "community" we've been a part of since Kindergarten. Gotten better each year, and reassuring to see our kids go and leave school happy and enthusiastic every day! Very attentive, creative and engaged faculty and administration. Positive and supportive faith and values based environment. Hard to do everything as a smaller school, but what they do, they do exceptionally well. Small classes lead to a great learning environment, but naturally challenge extracurriculars and athletics. Excellent art and STEM. Interesting diversity from international students. Buildings and grounds are in great shape and constantly being improved. Our graduate will be attending one of the most competitive private HS in the region, and totally ready to go!
