Parent: The curriculum is strong, with students working above grade level in many subjects. Teachers set high expectations and then help each child achieve those goals in a warm and nurturing environment. Each day students’ folders are filled with the work that they have completed so that parents can be informed of their child’s progress. Any obstacles are handled at early stages and the child is treated with the utmost respect every step of the way. The emphasis on STEAM is helping to prepare students for a successful future. Every member of the staff knows each kid--not only their names, but their individual personalities. Additional benefits of ACE include smaller class sizes, character development, a uniform that minimizes drama in the mornings, responsive staff, and an exceptional facility. Parent: My son has been at Good Shepherd for three years and we've been very happy. He has had made great friends in the small classes, and gets plenty of attention from the dedicated teaching staff. He also loves the "perks" like the outdoors program, where they walk over to nearby Forest Hill park and down by the James River to learn about nature and Richmond. We also like that, even though it's small, there kids from all kinds of different backgrounds, which was different from what we found in a lot of the other schools we looked at.... Read 14 reviews
