Senior: The three and a half years I’ve spent at FM were outstanding. The teachers are great. Very interested and involved with the students. Lots of AP and dual enrollment courses are offered to juniors and seniors so you can get a leg up on college courses. The food is great, especially the paninis! Lots of sports are offered. Parent: My children came to JD from a local private school, MPH, where public schools were continually put down. Former classmates of my children told them how "sorry" they were that my kids had to go to public school and that they'd ruin their education. How wrong they were! My kids are thriving in JD...teachers there were just as caring as their former teachers and even more so accessible. AND my oldest got into amazing Ivy League colleges and her college guidance counselor was a great help in the process. The diversity in academic, athletic, arts, and club offerings is amazing.... Senior: Skaneateles Central Schools is an excellent place to gain opportunities for further education backed by a solid core curriculum. The students and staff are driven and responsible, with many/most sophomore, junior, and seniors taking multiple AP and advanced courses. Senior: I liked attending West Genesee School district. I believe I recieved a quality k-12 education and was provided with many resources to allow me to create my own learning experiences outside of the core classes. There are many course electives that allow for a deeper dive into history, math, science, and other subjects. The art department offers many quality courses with teachers that are passionate about what they do. I felt as thought the art teachers cared about what students made and wanted to see growth. The AP and advanced courses offered at West Genesee High School prepared me for college level material and were opportunities to recieve college credit at a lower price. However, the district lacks diversity and I believe this effects the culture of the school. Senior: I love Westhill. I have found lifelong friends there but the one thing that bothers me is how cliquey it is. I wish everyone could just be friends with each other but it’s very much a cliquey group of people. Other than that, I loved it! The teachers pushed me to be the best I could be even with some tough love. The experience I had through sports and clubs and classes with other students was unmatched. Westhill taught me compassion, kindness, individuality, persistence, and to be resourceful. I have learned so many valuable lessons at that school, whether it was from a fellow student, a teacher, or even something I had to discover myself. Senior: I’m a student at Baldwinsville, and I enjoy my time there. The staff are kind, and willing to stay after school to help students, with homework, questions on the lesson, or just to talk! It’s a friendly community where teachers and administrators care about the students and the environment they’re in. I feel safe when I’m at school, and know administrators do everything in their power to keep students happy and healthy. There are many clubs and sports to allow everyone to be involved in activities! I also love the amount of elective courses available for students. One thing I would like to see change in Baldwinsville is allowing students to start taking language in elementary school, as it would help students become better and more interested in language and culture at a younger age, allowing students to be more accepting of others in the future. Senior: I have attended Tully since kindergarten. Tully has allowed me to express myself as the individual that I am, and it has given me the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities that suit my interests. Alum: I wouldn't have wanted to go anywhere else for my education. Most of the teachers there are incredible and the environment was great. The course selections were good, especially by my senior year when we got new agriculture programs. Not very diverse though, but that isn't the school's fault. Would love to see more diversity there in the future. Student counselor could have prepared me much better for college, showing me the options I had and telling me that I had a very real possibility of not being able to go to college since I am not eligible for student loans and none of my family is credit-worthy. Senior: Fabius-Pompey is a very very small school which has positives and negatives that go along with it. One good thing about going to a small school like Fabius is that all the teachers know you, you are able to develop good relationships with teachers because you spend lot of times with them. The teachers know how you learn so they always do their best to help you. The only thing that makes going to Fabius a little hard is the fact that you can't have tons of friends because the school is so small. Senior: Phoenix Central school district gave me so many great years. it showed me great leadership skill, how to show love and compassion towards those who do it back. The teachers have made a great impact in my career because they always pushed me to do my best. they were there when i was struggling. In 9th grade i was diagnosis with epilepsy they teachers understood why i couldn't focus with black out. they helped me by after school slowly going over the lesson so i wouldn't fall behind. they helped me thrive. Phoenix spends countless of hours helping people in need. We also are showed what a positive role model looks like. The only thing I believe we need to change is how people view our school. Many other schools call us "weak" because we aren't up to date on everything but we are working on it. Works Here: I had the opportunity to be an intern at the high school in Lafayette and I have never been so impressed with so many facets/aspects of the district. I myself live in the Westhill school district and have two daughters who attend Westhill schools. They PALE IN COMPARISON. At Lafayette High School, and more so, its Big Picture Program- I love the amount of diversity I see, the challenges and opportunities for growth are second to none in my own experience. Junior: I would like to explain that the school has some wonderful, friendly, amazing teachers who truly want the best for their students. In addition, the teachers are very caring and they’re very supportive and motivating. To add on, they’re just there to help and guide you, and many are big helpers throughout the overall community, which it’s quite wonderful that they are. The school is a relatively small school, but due to the size, the teachers and students know everyone and you really become a close, community. The school also features many amazing opportunities and numerous classes to take with various activities, clubs, sports, and just a ton of events that happen with everyone you love and know. Also the security and safety is very well. The reason I did not rate it a 5 star was simply because of wishing there was a bit more organization in some of the systems (transportation system and scheduling) in addition, wishing the students voices were heard more by the higher positions....
