Junior: I have been going to Okemos school all my life and I have always loved it here. This district is so accepting of everyone, no matter where you are from or your background. I am a part of the LGBTQ and I have always felt safe and respected here. They give everyone equal opportunities and look at everyone the same. Senior: I've had a good experience at East Lansing schools. I came here my sophomore year from a school in a different city and it was a big step up from my previous school experiences. East Lansing has showed me how diverse the world is and how people who have different views on the world can coexist and get along. I have participated in multiple clubs, sport teams, and activities during my time in East Lansing . I was apart of a conference championship winning football team, black student union, and the basketball team. These teams and clubs provided by East Lansing taught me how to work hard and the importance of teamwork. Alum: My experience at Haslett High School was far from what I had expected. In the mists of a world pandemic my experience took a turn. I had lost out on the opportunities of a normal last two years of high school. Meanwhile Haslett as a school came together and tried their best to provide us with alternatives. Alum: Grand Ledge schools has the most amazing teachers of any school I've been to. (We moved a lot) The attention to education was phenomenal and for students who needed extra help for anything from academics to mean kids calling you names at 9 years old they were there every step of the way. Senior: Compared to the surrounding schools of Mason, I feel like Mason Public Schools are the safest. Teachers were interested in their teaching and loved to help students. There are many athletic programs to be a part of people are there for each other especially to support a child's sport. The only thing I would like to change about Mason Public Schools are the school hours. Senior: St. Johns Public Schools is a really good school program. The sports programs at Saint Johns are top-notch and primarily use actual teachers as their coaches. Niche User: My experience at Holt public schools was good for the most part. The teachers were great! the curriculum was challenging, which is great. The only issues I ever had was with the way they handled and didn't recognize the bullying that occured. How mean the students were. Every school has bullies, but if faculty was trained to see the signs, or urged to intervene in someway that would be great. Suspension is like 3 days for the students that would fight or harass students. Kind of a minimal punishment, especially for those students that have parents that never disciplined them at home. Junior: The aspect of Dansville that appeals to me is its ability to give every student a quality education. Dansville is a small school, located near Lansing, Michigan, and its small size allows the students and staff to know each other personally. Every student knows the others in his/her class, and every teacher knows his/her students individually, allowing them to teach them differently based on their different needs. The teachers there are very friendly and personal, both with each other and with the students. Dansville is also made great by the people in it. The school has many different fundraisers and group that help out locally, which could not be done with a bigger school. Senior: I have attended Charlotte Public Schools from k-12 and I have very much enjoyed all of my time there. High school especially.
