Alum: Glastonbury High School was a good example of a high school. The classes were of good quality and the teachers knew what they were teaching while also including students' input. There were also a wide variety of clubs and elective class subjects. The school events that the staff put on were also a lot of fun and the sports teams did fantastic. Not to mention how up to date the technology and library resources were that were provided to students. It was also a very welcoming environment with little instances of bullying. There was also ample parking space for students and staff. The agriscience program was also of good quality and a good way for kids to be involved and learn new skills. The food could've been a bit better, but there was variety so it wasn't too bad. Ipad usage for students was also too excessive on the school's part, due to the debates on whether they actually helped the kids learn or not. Alum: I went to Farmington High School and graduated in 2019. I felt very prepared for college, and overall had great teachers, especially those who taught APs. I scored well on my ACTs and APs, and am now attending Baylor University with scholarships! Farmington high school set me up to succeed, especially in my harder science classes. The only critique I have is that I wish they had offered dual credit classes so I would have more credits for gen eds going into college. College classes are very expensive, and it is unfortunate to have to pay for classes such as American lit which is a requirement for my major, but a class that could be offered for dual credit. Senior: Although more than half of my high school experience was interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, I would say that what I was able to experience at Rocky Hill High School was excellent. The acceptance and diversity present in our school allow for all students to thrive. There is also a large selection of electives and clubs, which allow us students to explore our interest and make friendships. One of the clubs being a social justice club, in which is student fight to make our school and town a better and more inclusive place. The staff also work extremely hard to make us all thrive. Alum: I'm an Alum of the South Windsor School District. During my tenure I attended Wapping Elementary School(closed, K-5), Timothy Edwards Middle School(6-8) and South Windsor High School(9-12). All three schools were challenging academically and pushed me in order to be equipped for college. In fact, I wish I took more advantage of the college preparatory classes than I did. South Windsor has a fantastic music program, that is dedicated to its students and allows them to grow starting in the 4th grade until they graduate High School. The technology in the schools were also very good. Timothy Edwards(middle school) was renovated in the early 2000s and still has state of the art technology. The town recently approved renovations to all 4 elementary schools in town. All are or will be state of the art facilities once complete. My only critique of South Windsor School District is the diversity. My sister and I who both attended SW had 1 combined black/African American teacher... Read 25 reviews

Parent: It’s a small town that tries very hard to give our kids what they need. There are many parents that are involved and vested in the cute of our kids. The teachers are almost all passionate about what they do and helping our child learn. Food is mostly nutritious, there is probably still some room for improvement. Parent: Both my children graduated from region 10 and were MORE than prepared for college compared to other students they encountered in college. The teachers and staff go above and beyond in educating , preparing, and nurturing the students. It is a small school system and the atmosphere supportive and there is a strong sense of community in the entire school system. I am grateful to the teachers for the education my children received in region 10 especially in the advanced and AP classes. Although the diversity is an issue, I do not feel this negatively impacted my children. They were taught the importance of diversity at school and at home in the world around them and continue to grow because of that to be amazing human beings who contribute positively to society.... Senior: Overall Plainville schools has allowed me too further my education and provide opportunities that a lot of other schools don't provide. All the teachers I've had have prepared me to go into college and get into a career I enjoy and can help others with. The only thing I wish I saw more of within Plainville schools is better explanations about going into college. One of the main things I wish is that they started talking about college earlier with us, such as in middle school, to get us prepared for the application process. This would help a lot of students lower the amount of stress when given these applications and having to choose the college they plan on attending. Alum: The Windsor School District does not get enough credit in my opinion. In my experience, at least, it has been fantastic. The administration was fair, and I never had a serious problem with a teacher. I particularly appreciated the Advanced Placement program in the high school. There was a culture in the school that seemed to really emphasize taking AP classes, as well as the UConn Early College Experience program. Senior: My experience at Bristol Central has been an overall fulfilling experience. Senior: My experience was good! I attend a school with children from all surrounding towns so I like the diversity and the fact that I get to meet other people from different cultures, ethnicity and backgrounds. The staff has always listen and address any concerns that I or my parents had. The experience has been awesome especially because I get to take early college classes free to me. The safety is good the security is always attentive and make sure we are good! The only thing I will change about my particular school is the sports, because they accept kids from surrounding towns they do not offer any sports against other schools. Sophomore: Manchester Community College is flexible, affordable, and of good quality. It offers numerous opportunities to students and adults to further their education and become skilled in their field. The teachers were personable and professional, while also helpful. It offers a variety of majors, career paths, and programs that can be tailored to your needs and wants. Staff and teachers WANT you to do well, and can help you find jobs and other opportunities with ease. The school is known for providing students with a quality education to those who may or may not be able to afford to learn at a four year institution. That being said, MCC lacked in the area of preparing students for transferring to outside college institutions.
