Senior: The teachers at Dsst: Byers High School become close friends/family. I love that my teachers cared for each and one of my classmates, and took the time to know us personally. This type of relationship is great, since it makes it easier to ask for help and better advocate for yourself. To add on, there are many options for classes to take in order for each student to be challenged at a reasonable level. There are many activities and extracurriculars to join, and even opportunities to start your own club! Here at Byers inclusivity and respect are highly encouraged, there are many affinity/cultural clubs open to the whole student body. Parent: Our son is a graduating senior (2023) and we can't be happier at STEM. He was part of the first elementary class (grade 5) and has been at STEM ever since. This has allowed him to develop close friendships with peers, great relationships with teachers and staff, and a solid career path at age 17. He will actually graduate from college with an Associate's degree in Cybersecurity before he graduates from high school! This was made possible with participation in P-Tech and the Concurrent Enrollment programs. He is now well-prepared for college and for life. If your child shows propensity for engineering or technology, math or science, STEM will nurture those gifts and provide many opportunities to shine, not only through advanced classes, but also enrichment including Tech Student's Association, Computer Science Honor Society, BEST Robotics,Cyberpariot, paid internships, and more. Alum: Born and raised in Indonesia, my family and I packed everything we had and moved to the land of dreamers by the end of 2018. I finished my senior year at Arapahoe High School in Colorado. Language was obviously an issue, but all of the teachers and staff made sure that my sister and I felt included in the community. I participated in a volunteering activity my first year in the U.S.. Partnering with the Big Idea Project, my classmates and I raised and donated a grand total of $1,508 to Urban Peak, a homeless shelter for teenagers. Arapahoe is a great high school that offers countless opportunities for its students and will assist them in their journey. I also had the chance to take an AP class at one of the best community colleges in Colorado with the help of my teacher and ended up pursuing my associate's at this college. Alum: Overall I had a good experience at this school. I think one of the main things that stood out at ThunderRidge compared to other schools was our Field days. It was a special event that was known to be associated with ThunderRidge and it was something to look forward to each year. I think another little unique aspect I enjoyed were the school colors. Many other schools have basic colors but the navy blue and green was unique and made for a wonderful combination. It was fun to wear these colors to represent the school. The worst part may have been the inconsistencies of the teachers. I remember my AP Lang teacher was one of two, and he was clearly the worse of the two. When the AP exam came around I felt very unprepared and nervous while students from the other teacher's classes felt very confident. Niche User: Northridge Elementary is an amazing school that deserves a lot more credit. Their overall teaching approach is excellent, as is their opportunities for the students and, more than anything, the Gifted program (which is downright excellent in every way). Northridge offers a variety of subjects that wouldn't be taught in other schools, such as Mandarin and Engineering (Think Tank). They do an outstanding job incorporating fun into learning, and, as I stated before, excell in the Gifted and Talented area. Gifted students are welcomed and taught at their own pace, while forming everlasting friendships with their classmates. Alum: Heritage is a great choice for a high school that offers a quality balance of value on both sports, academics, clubs, and etc. For example I was able to be involved in sports and clubs. Funding sufficiently covered sports and the schools clubs so that anyones interests were able to be pursued. The staff all resembles the schools mission to soar like an eagle and earn your wings through positivity, communication, and thorough teaching. All ranges of students with differing backgrounds are welcome at Heritage and have ways to get involved. Sophomore: I actually went to Colorado Early Colleges Inverness but they had no option for that campus. I really enjoyed going to high school there. The student body is tiny but I like that it gives you an opportunity to know all of the students a little bit. The faculty is fantastic! Best of all, the whole purpose of the school is to graduate all of their students with Associates degrees. We can take college classes on campus or we can take them directly from Arapahoe Community College. This is an amazing opportunity for students who will pursue a degree after high school....
