Senior: The school is smaller, but accepting of the LGBTQ+ community. The counselors also help as much as they can with the students who aren't academically doing well. The teachers also have been open with checking in on students and their grades if they are slipping. Not only is the food consistent with the ideal nutritions to keep all of the students up for the day, we also have a miniature "convenience shop" (called The Pit Stop) where all students can purchase diet sodas, chips, and even smoothies or popcorn chicken. I personally favor the library though. It is a common space for the seniors, like me, who are taking online independent studies or are looking for a quiet place to study for tests and exams.... Senior: The teacher where amazing! At some points I did struggle with some of the work but overall a great experience and I encourage anyone in the area to enroll. There's a great band a choir program that I've been in first hand you wont find a better program like that around. There is a couple of thing I did not like in my experience. Gossip and actions along those line happen at every school but I think the school could have handed it better in my option. I also did not like how the school handed the dress code informants. I know that the dress code is set in place, It's that the school enforce it a lot more on the lady's at the school then the male students. Every school has it flaws but overall it had a great experience and I highly recommend checking out Goessel if you live in the area.... Read 9 reviews

Senior: Newton High School is a nice blend of how the real world is while keeping a safe environment. Newton is a largely diverse town, but the school is mostly white. We have the highest number of Foreign Exchange Students in the state, which helps them see the western world of America, but also helps us learn and respect their culture. Things happen in NHS and that is undeniable but it isn't some false sense of security that is going to leave you stranded in the real world, or in college where things aren't always safe and proper. Newton High has provided me with a huge sense of reality that is very underappreciated by others that attend. I do recommend anyone in the area that asks if they should try the private school option, to send their kids to Newton High and share some of my experiences with them.... Read 185 reviews

Works Here: The Peabody-Burns School District has a true family atmosphere with educators who truly care about each individual student. Safety, care, love, and selflessness are among the strongest qualities of the USD 398 staff. Individualized learning, Project-Based Learning, Life Skills, and Core Content are what you will see as you enter the building. They are a Trauma Informed district that care about the well-being of their students create an atmosphere of a sense of belonging.
