Monroe Central Junior/Senior High School
#71 Best Public High Schools in Indiana
- Monroe Central School Corporation, IN
- Rating 4.32 out of 5 44 reviews
Junior: Monroe Central is my home school. I have been here since kindergarten and wouldn’t want to be anywhere else! All the teachers are so ready to see you in the morning and ready to teach. One thing I would change about Monroe Central Jr/Sr. High School is diversity. It is a rural school, with only about 500 students and not much diversity.

Junior: Teachers were okay, classes were easy. I really liked being here, but the lunch and hallway order was pretty bad. They need to work on discipline.

Senior: Jay County has a very welcoming atmosphere. I know most of the students and enjoy being able to walk through the halls and recognize a majority of the faces. I also think the teachers are very fun and respectful of students. Jay County also gives good opportunities, for athletics and academics. Early College program helps students get on track to finish a full year of college before graduating high school. The sports are inclusive and open to anyone. When a problem arises, it is usually addressed and immediately sent through processing to be fixed. For example, the lunch lines have been incredibly crowded this year. Within the first two weeks of school, they changed the dismissal process and attempted to fix the problem. I think the student body is very fun. Students go all-out for extracurricular videos such as homecoming, prom, and student cheer sections. I also think they've handled the COVID situation well. Masks are enforced, and remote learning is executed well, in my opinion.

Senior: Throughout my time at Winchester Community High School, I have been taught by some of the best teachers that I could have ever been taught by. Winchester Community High School has been working on preparing their students for life after High School with many different scholarship paths for their students going into the workforce or into college. As a senior at Winchester Community High School, I will leave for college with 30 college credits and will have all of my general education courses finished by the time I leave High School. At Winchester Community High School, the staff and students have created an atmosphere that is great to work, learn, and grow in. My experience here has made me go farther than I ever thought I could. I would recommend this amazing school to any who asked and I would bring my kids back to Winchester to learn from these Master Teachers and the amazing work that they have done for my and the rest of my school community.
