J. Graham Brown School
#10 Best Public High Schools in Kentucky
Freshman: The Brown School is not perfect, but it is as close to perfect as I’m going to get with public edification. I am diagnosed with autism, OCD, dyspraxia, and a variety of other things that impede my ability to function. Previously, I attended a school where I was not able to be mainstreamed most of the time and had constant mental breakdowns; I was bullied regularly by the staff and students, causing me to become depressed and anxious. Here, I still have problems, but I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. Here, I can walk down the hallways and not be worried about being attacked unlike my previous school. Here, I am able to participate in class. Here, the ECE teacher and a lot of the other teachers truly care about the students. I’m not saying that I haven’t had bad experiences; I still experience discrimination and bullying. However, I am doing so much better.I am even taking many AP classes as a freshman and maintaining a 4.25 GPA.The Brown School is truly a unique place
