Woodland High School
Sophomore: I am a student taking AP and Honors classes, so my experience may be different from other students, but, from my experience at this school, I can say that the interests of the students is definitely prioritized. Woodland (along with its middle school) not only has a variety of clubs and programs encourage the interests of students, but even the classroom assignments are aimed to interest students. The school also prioritizes academic success; teachers would take time out of their evenings to explain difficult subjects or offer credit recovery assignments. Teachers also provide clear office hours so that students know when to contact them. Breaks are rather frequent, also.
Unfortunately, recently, many excellent teachers have retired, so Woodland is struggling to find teachers with the academic qualifications, teaching qualifications, and experience of the retired teachers. Also, fights and cheating (on assignments) are not uncommon. Fortunately, classtime is not squandered by this.
