Freshman: This is my first year at CSW and, so far, it has been wonderful! I am being challenged with my work while being given the right amount of assistance and support from teachers. They provide many opportunities for their kids through their clubs and resources (though mainly focusing on science and math; they have no resources for arts). Senior: Odyssey is a great school! You get yo learn a different language of Greek, which has been an experience in itself. The majority of the teachers care about your overall well-being. Senior: I started my high school career in the 10th grade at Mount Pleasant high school and ever since then, I've loved it at Mount. The students, the teachers, and the admin all play such a key part in making your high school experience at Mount Pleasant memorable. The teachers are patient and willing to help, they encourage their students the study, work hard, and ultimately just try their best. There are so many ways to get involved, from sports to drama, to student government you name it! there's a place for everyone to fit in at our school. I truly love it at Mount and I'm extremely devastated that I'm graduating but I'm grateful for the friends that I've made and the experiences that I've had! Middle School Student: It’s awesome, I had a amazing experience there! The teachers are kind but strict when dealing with misbehaving kids, and they are very patient when your having a hard time understanding something, they also have reading groups you can be placed in if you need a little extra help in a subject, Lombardy has a great sense of community That I’ve never seen anywhere else, they teach kids how to become leaders through there leadercore program where you help organize fundraisers and other school events.... Niche User: I liked the sense of belonging of the students, the focus on academics, the sense of self esteem of the students and the "can do" attitude of the students. It is a strong believer that students must have a strong attitude toward learning, physical fitness and duty to America which more American students should have. I agree that there must be more opportunities to take Aptitude tests that are allowing students get college credits. But more important is the overall sense of value that the student has in themselves. This is very important to the future opportunities that come to a student. I have seen a lot of approaches to schooling over the years, and this one fits in today's arena where uncertainty exists for the population as a whole. I think the students coming out of this school will be very prepared for the futures they are facing which are quite different from the schools of the past. It is a school worth looking at right now. Senior: I loved my time at Brandywine High School! I started off as a super shy freshmen and now as a senior I can say I am super outgoing! My teachers definitely helped me come out of my shell and encouraged me to think outside the box. I feel like I've had such strong connections with my teachers, administration, and office staff. They are so welcoming and I love talking with as many of them as I can every day. There is never a day I go without giving one of my teachers/admins a big hug and asking how their day was! Alum: The experience I had going to delcastle technical high school was phenomenal! There are so many different career paths to choose from. The teachers are very helpful and caring. They make sure that you understand the material that you are learning and refuse to ever give up on their students, no matter how long it takes. The offer help with job opportunities and financing and there is plenty of diversity, so it was very for me to fit it. Staff was also very strict on bullying and school violence, making sure that students felt safe in their environment. There are several clubs and student activities for students to participate in to make new friends, learn new skills, and improve social skills. I could not have asked for a better high school to spend my teenage years in, and I would absolutely recommend Delcastle technical High School to anyone who is looking for the greatest high school experience of a lifetime!... Senior: My overall experience at Freire Charter School was pretty good. I absolutely love all of the different after school programs that they offer you, such as Board Game Club, Academic Centers, Gay-Straight Alliance, and many more. I will say that Freire always puts their best foot forward when it comes to accommodating all of their student’s interest. They have amazing policies and procedures put in place to ensure the safety of all of their students. I have had the honor of meeting some amazing educators throughout my 4 years of being at Freire. Junior: My name is Isyss and I'm a soon-to-be senior at Howard High School of Technology. My technical career area is Academy of Finance. Attending Howard is a blessing because it prepares us students for the real world and gives us an early start to our future careers. In Academy of Finance, we learn a lot. I think I speak for everyone when I say we don't realize how much we've learned until we're outside of the classroom. We learn about Entrepreneurship, financial literacy, credit, and stock markets. We also learn to stand out and create a brand for ourselves because at the end of the day, brand is more valuable than the product itself. Adults often tell us that we're learning things that they had to learn later in life, such as the five C's of credit or different kinds of investment accounts. Works Here: RMW I can’t think of a better way to spend retirement! I get to give hugs and love while teaching children how to learn and love themselves. My students need differentiated instruction to meet the needs of their different learning styles. We are not a special needs school...we are a school that specializes in meeting the special needs and learning styles of our students. A student once told me, “Before we were dumb, but now we are smart.” Another student told me, “when I grow up and become a great teacher, I’m going to tell my students that it’s because I had a great 4th grade teacher.” At the end of the year last year, one student thanked me for not giving up on them. Junior: Chester Charter School of the arts, is a great school with many opportunities. The faculty tries there best to understand the students there and what they can do to help. The school isn’t much but it’s the people in it, and that’s what makes it great. The environment is great and everyone gets along.
