Senior: The last four years of Haverford have been unforgettable. The lunches are average highschool lunches. I have made connections with students, teachers, and staff that I'll never forget. I Have learned things that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I've had fun at events with friends and I've gone home at night knowing that I just made some amazing memories, thanks to Haverford High School. I am sad to leave this place but I know that they have prepared me for the real world, and for that I am always incredibly thankful. Parent: My child is currently in 4th grade - he started at Hillcrest in 1st. ALL of his teachers have been dedicated, communicative, thoughtful, supportive, and have gone in my opinion above and beyond to support my son throughout his education. Now that he's older and more involved in extracurriculars such as music and theater, I'm even MORE impressed by the level of dedication of his teachers in this space as well. Niche User: For an elementary school, I feel as though I was exposed to a fair amount of classes and diversity. We has math, science, social studies, and a language arts class, as well as music, library, phys ed., and art. Some teachers even taught more than one subject so you could easily get help if you needed it. The workload was never too much and a lot of the time we could start doing our homework in class if we finished our classwork. Senior: My time at Science Leadership Academy at Beeber has been outstanding throughout my four years of high school. Each teacher that I have genuinely cared about my education and my development as a high schooler and upcoming college student. To fit the student's needs, adjustments are made as necessary, which is one of my favorite aspects. My confidence in my learning ability has grown thanks to small class groups and leveled instruction. I honestly love the emphasis that my school has on collaboration because I am able to get an early understanding of professionalism on school grounds. This has benefited me because I am now able to share my thoughts with others around me and connect with them. My networking skills have also flourished while at this school. Junior: I have been going to Shoemaker for almost all of my 6th through 11th grade school life. I have always had great relationships with my teachers and administration. I have been consistently encouraged to take the college pathway. Parent: My daughter has attended since kindergarten and now my son attends. I like the staff as a whole. I am able get in touch with anyone at the school. Senior: I chose to make it a very good experience because at first I did not want to go to boys Latin I started the middle of 7th grade year because of a problem that I had in my old school so boys line became my only option so I decided to take it up on its offer and go at first I was hesitant to even think about going to an art boy school I had the senses oh I go said all boys school I become gay when I got there I found a lot of people at that same mindset but as I grew and understood that school was there to help me understand myself and the world around me . Senior: I love how we are a non traditional school and we are mostly project based school and how we get to show our creativity through each year . For example, our freshman year we have to do a project each semester and go on trips to relate to the project.We made Lamps and was required to learn how to use the shop to make our own lamp.We as freshman also had to make our own designs on a website before we made .This project was so so different for freshman to do but it was fun .We did the William Shakespeare play and make our own theme and remix the play .Then the more you stay each year is more and better challenges and more opportunities for you .In 11 and 12 grade you get to have a opportunity to take college classes or have a internship where you are inspired by or Interested in. I decided I was interested in criminal justice and law so I made my pathway to internships every week.The workshop school is the only school in Philadelphia that lets you pick and choose what pathway you want .... Alum: Throughout my four years as a student at KIPP Dubois Collegiate Academy, or KDCA, I've experienced nothing but love from the staff and the students. No other school I've attended has made me feel like the teachers genuinely cared about me as a person as well as a student. The advisers treated their advisees like they would their own children. The teachers, as well as the rest of the staff, made sure that students were safe getting to wherever their after-school destinations were. Alum: My experience at KIPP West Philadelphia Preparatory School had its ups and downs. Which helped me grow into the person I am today, not only did I get a good education but I met two of my closes friends there. KIPP has teachers you could confined in and feel safe 100% of the time. Even though at times Kipp was overbearing I learned a lot just being apart of that community. I never felt as if I was an outsider I felt has if I had a place. I went camping and learned how to connect with the world without a cell phone. I got to give back to the community in New Orleans after the hurricane. I got a chance to travel to Utah, Washington Dc, Los Vegas, Grand Canyon National Park, Edge Water Maryland because of Kipp. KIPP has a motto " no child left behind" and I felt has if they kept there word.
