Senior: When I first started at ASD in sixth grade, I was determined to go somewhere else for high school. Now, I'm a senior, and staying was the best choice I ever made. ASD might be small and nerdy, but it has an incredible community. The teachers aren't there for the money; they're there because they're passionate and knowledgeable. The students all know and support each other. We're best known for our academics, and for good reason. The high-school-level classes start in 7th grade, and they remain challenging and innovative all the way through 12th. Overall, ASD was ranked the number one high school in NH, and it truly is.... Middle School Student: I go here it is awesome! Everyone is so welcoming and is very kind and I already have a ton of friends. Curriculum is tough, but worth it, and you are still able to do out of school activities. Staff and Admins are amazing and genuinely care about the students education. There is a wide array of after-school clubs including but not limited to: Drama Club, Book Club, Sci-Fi Club, First Lego League, Math Counts, Science Quiz Bowl, and Band. Do note that the only sport they have is Middle School Cross-Country but you are able to participate in sports in your district. They don't just focus on textbook academics, but they also work to teach students real-world skills to help them be successful later in life. Parent: Very safe and friendly environment for my children. The school wants the parents to get engaged in the school community which I appreciate so much. Zero bullying issues. My children feel respected and loved in this school. The teachers are happy and eager to communicate with the parents regarding any issue. The administrative team is very helpful and responsible. Reading, languages and art are great in the school , Math is not as strong , I have to work with my children at home. Science studies are very limited. Junior: During my time at Founders, I’ve overall had a positive experience. The majority of teachers here are nice, understanding, and devoted to making sure students reach mastery in class. The community at Founder’s is also good; I’ve never seen any bullying in my 5 years of attendance. The worst thing about this school is the lack of AP classes. I believe there’s only one available and it’s in computer science. I understand that it’s a new school, but it’s really annoying especially when trying to build up a college resume.... Junior: I greatly enjoy the academic rigor at Manchester Central High School. I am challenged academically, but there are a plethora of clubs and D1 sports available to explore my interests. I have dipped my toes in most of the clubs the school offers and have found my interests and potential college majors this way. Strong friendships were formed through soccer and tennis that transcend cultural barriers. Central is an inner-city school and the most diverse school in the state, with students hailing from over 30 countries. This creates a unique experience in learning where I am able to listen to other perspectives on complex issues. Central is the oldest high school in NH and with it comes a rich history, a large alumni network, and teachers that do everything in their power to help you succeed. Whether it is staying back after school for hours to assist students or responding to emails in a timely manner, Central's teachers have a passion for teaching and a dedication to student success.... Parent: My son't first year as a 7th grader has been amazing. He is happy, feels protected; since bullying is taken care of swiftly, and is eager to learn. As a seasoned mother & having enrolled my adult children in both private and public schools this is hands down the best suited for my child. The teachers make time for extra help. Kindness and understanding brings about results. My son truly enjoyed his first year and has settled nicely even with COVID. The teachers gave time beyond measure to all their students. There is a sense of responsibility and compassion. He enjoyed his studies, the teachers made his studies relatable. History class was so informative; Mom even listened in during this COVID year :) . Parent: Polaris is a hands on school whose philosophy is that every child should work to their full potential. With a one to 16 teacher to student ratio and a caring, nurturing administration that can really happen. This school is best for children who are driven to learn but need an alternative environment to really flourish. As a parent of Polaris you need to plan on being involved and volunteer, the school’s success is based on a “it takes a village” mindset. The ideal child that fits this school is gifted in at least a few subjects, curious about the world around them, has had difficulty being restrained to conventional education and would be better suited to a hands on environment. Senior: My four years at Manchester Memorial High School have been very influential in my life and the person I have become. Every school has it's flaws and Memorial is no different, however, when looking at the bigger picture I can see that the flaws are outweighed by the overwhelmingly good experiences I have had there. Some of the flaws that I have seen include the inability to keep staff/the district cutting down on courses, scheduling errors due to cut courses, and only having one time a popular class is given. These flaws are outweighed by benefits such as a caring, friendly, and understanding teaching staff; nice lunch ladies and good food; and the overall spirit of the school. Memorial is a spirited school and though we are a competitive lot we all come together at the end of the day in a pretty great community. Alum: Manchester School of Technology is great for those who are very driven or desire to broaden their skills. The classes are generally self-paced and the teachers are all very helpful and friendly. Manchester School of Technology is also wonderful at preparing students for college with the way they create schedules, the way the days are run, and with how things are graded. If the student is driven enough, they can even graduate a year early like I did! Over all, I loved my experience at the Manchester School of Technology and I know I'm going to miss it.... Senior: I am a senior at Manchester West High-school and for the last three years my experience at West has given me endless opportunities. Their diversity has also always made me feel welcomed, I have made many amazing friends and have met wonderful teachers who have been upstanding mentors. In middle school I never felt like I could be myself, I struggled with my self esteem and confidence and this made me isolate myself, but when I go to high school I found myself opening up and getting out of my comfort zone and now I can certainly say I know who I am and what I am capable of. Works Here: Southside Middle School has a great staff. Students are eager to learn and feel comfortable around the staff. We have many great programs to offer leadership opportunities. Students have a great sense of community by getting involved in music, sports, robotics, Student Government, drama club, reading or math challenges, spelling bee, math bee, gio-bee and so much more. If I could change one thing I would have more staff to support student needs. Many students in our community need additional supports and resources due to unfortunate circumstances....
