Senior: For the most part, the teachers at Hershey High School are wonderful. Many of them enjoy what they do and will consistently go out of their way to assist students. On the other hand, there are a few that are notoriously unlikeable or unhelpful. The good absolutely outweighs the bad though! As for the students, Hershey kids are known to have higher socioeconomic statuses. Coupled with a lack of diversity, it is definitely a school where people will feel insecure or even be outcasted. But this is also an issue that is found all across the nation. Hershey High School is overall a decent school– I am satisfied with my education, and I anticipate I will graduate with far more positive memories of my time here than negative memories.... Niche User: I love the educational aspects of the school. The teachers are great and really work on making it is individual experience for the students. My daughter loves school. The building the school is currently located is run down, but it doesn't seem to impact the quality of education too much. It would be nice to have a cafeteria. Another downside is that the board isn't all that open and seems to try hard to keep things private that should be public. Overall, they just need new blood on the board, but the current board members don't really appear interested in attracting people to the board that think different than them.... Read 12 reviews

Alum: Hershey Middle School provides a close, supportive community to its students. Most of the teachers try their best to meet the students’ needs and make education fun. Most of the kids knew each other since first grade, so everyone is pretty close. However, new kids are always welcomed and the environment is pretty friendly. Alum: I went here from 2011 - 2013. I attended two elementary schools in Palmyra and Pine was definitely my favorite. There was a great culture of enthusiasm, learning, and fun there that I've heard carries on to this day. The unified art teachers were awesome especially. Like other Palmyra elementary schools, they also have great traditions, like the annual tug-of-war competition between the 5th grade classes. The facilities are pretty nice despite their age, and very close to both the middle and high school, which gives a wonderful, tight-knit, small town feeling.... Read 1 review

Alum: I'm from the class of 2020 and and I can say PHS has a very warm atmosphere - it definitely feels like one big family. There's always a new meme or inside joke to make everyone laugh, and the teachers are very laid-back and love to have fun - it's not unusual to see them candidly having a KanJam tournament in the hallway! There's also a lot of cool traditions - for one, the senior class gets to leave a week early at the end of the year, and on the first day they're gone, the Juniors get to dress up in togas and have a cook-out in the parking lot to celebrate being the new leaders. Another example is Free Rita's Day, when students get out of class early to get free Italian ice in the atrium. Additionally, the school always tries to do something for finals, like bringing in therapy dogs to roam the school to help kids feel better. Alum: I went here from 2008 - 2011 so take what I say with a grain of salt. Within Palmyra Area School District, Northside certainly gets a bit of a bad rep. However, I mostly liked my time there. There were a lot of fun events and the playground is my personal favorite in the district. The three bad teachers I remember having have all since retired, and the ones I liked mostly still work there. It also feels like a very safe school because of how distant it is from the rest of Palmyra - it's mainly surrounded by baseball fields and horse farms, which was always enjoyable as a kid.... Senior: I am a senior at Dauphin County Technical School and it has been a good experience. This school has taught me what I need to be career and college ready by providing the right equipments, making good connections through the clubs, and exposing me to the real world.
