#9 Best Public High Schools in Nevada
Sophomore: All in all, as a sophomore, I've absolutely loved attending LVA. The school is filled with wonderful people who care about learning and teaching, and the arts programs are wonderful. I'm a piano major who intends to go to college for music composition, and already I've been given the opportunity to perform my original compositions in two concerts, one in my freshman year and the other in my sophomore year. Because you must audition to get into LVA, most students want to be here, as do the teachers, which makes for an energetic community. The teachers clearly care a lot about their students. There are plenty of options for AP and Honors level classes, as well as regular classes, for every student's preferences. The open campus is very large with many older buildings, so there is a LOT of walking. There are multiple lunch areas including a field. The concerts, musicals, and other performances are spectacular. I love my high school, and I highly recommend it to teens who love the arts!
