Alum: My experience at Newark memorial high school was good. The staff there was very helpful in ways and the teachers there were very helpful when it came down to helping those who didn’t understand the material. I liked how Newark memorial involved the students by having their club day and also having events to support clubs there. For instance, there was an event for day of the dead that was by MEChA and Folklorico. Something I would like to see change is preparing the seniors for college. As for me, It was a bit hectic going from high school to college because everything is very different compared to being with the same people for four years and having less things related to work to do in high school compared to college.

Parent: My children have been attending this school for many years. The teachers and staff are awesome! They give it there all. My children enjoy visiting with their teachers even though they don't attend this school. (At the Newark Jr high) Teachers have left a huge footprint on my children. Just love this school. I still have a child attending. Great school!

Sophomore: More sports and more outreaches to high risk youth and field trips . They need to really dig in to gearing students coming from broken homes the best opportunities for example taking a field trip to a college!!! They need to get them pumped up and motivated for beating the odds.

Alum: I attended vista alternative school for my last semester of high school for independent study. With this new format for learning, I was given the opportunity to undertake internships and even begin working! If I had stayed with a tradition school format I would have not gotten my head start on the world and would not be where I am today without the help of those teachers.
