Senior: This school is like no other! A small community full of wonderful students and amazing staff! Great administrations staff and cleaning staff! This school is one of the best I have seen academically. However, our athletic department is growing as well and making its way through the rankings on all sports! Our school was named the best charter school in Florida and we have received A+ school certification 3 years in a row, with various Project Lead The Way programs and National Honor Society students. The school offers lots of Advance Placement courses such as AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Calculus AB & BC, AP Psychology, AP World History, AP Human Geography, and those are a few of them. Alum: As a former student of this school (class of 14') I can highly recommend this school. As it is a magnet school, the admissions process is more selective than other public schools in the area but the school itself pulls students from a much larger area (students do not have to "be zoned" for this school to attend it). I thoroughly enjoyed attended my time here as a student. Although this school does not offer sports (there are many great club programs around the area, and besides, not many standalone elementary schools offer them), there are many other programs that can cater to your children's needs (an award wining robotics program, a STEM team, etc.). My only gripe was with the school's after school care program (mainly the staff), and the lack of a music/arts program. Junior: Cornerstone is a good school, it has great opportunities and is a sheltered school in which students are able to flourish to the best of their abilities with the help of faculty and staff. Parent: Helpful, caring teachers and staff! We have had 3 children attend RLC all the way from Pre-K through middle school. High standards are set and expected. We have 1 child that struggled with math but her teachers worked with her (and us) to get her on grade level. Tears were shed, but I'm glad we stuck it out and trusted her teachers. It's not for the weak at heart. There's no participation trophy. There's academic success, social growth, and life lessons. Alum: My experience at Eustis High School was undoubtedly a great one. One thing in particular that stood out to me about Eustis High School was the staff. Whether it is, for example, a teacher or counselor, the staff at Eustis High School is going to take care of you. The teachers at Eustis High School are awesome. My favorite classes were in social studies; the social studies department largely was the reason for this (they, along with the rest of the teaching staff are phenomenal educators and greatly knowledgeable of their subject areas). The counselors are unexplainably helpful; for example, one of the most intimidating things to do is transition from grade school to college; the counselors make sure to take the time to sit down and guide you through the many, new processes. If I could recommend a change, it would simply be to improve the appearance of the campus, but without a doubt, Eustis High School remarkably excels with the resources available. Junior: The best part about the school is that it provides many academic opportunities aiding the students' future, including dual enrollment, extracurriculars, and IB programs. One major thing that needs to be altered is the political issues that affect the school's sports. I have recalled many experiences where a student-athlete was awarded based on status, wealth, grade, and their parents, not their talents. I would also state that some teachers have admitted, " I do not know how to teach," explaining to their students that they had just gotten out of college and had no teaching experience but were still given the position. On the other hand, some teachers have degrees or PhDs in a certain subject but are put in to teach a class a different subject from what they've studied. Niche User: I went in as a guest for their AVID classes on 4/28/2023. As I walked the halls, watched and listened: I saw was CLEANLINESS, CALMNESS, and FRIENDLY FACES. A student assistant walked me to the building. As I entered, the walls where wonderfully decorated, nothing torn down. Teachers monitored during bell. The class had various choices of seating. College banners displayed. Students were kind and polite. They asked questions, listened, no sign of anger, anxiety or rudeness. I truly enjoyed the day. The students listened to me discuss what Career Source of Central Florida has to offer their community. KUDOS to THE LEADERSHIP team at this school. VERY positive impressions made on this SPOT CHECK from an 18-year OCPS retire teacher/ Math Veteran Teacher (still certified). A big thank you to D. Griffin for having me as her guest!
