Parent: The smaller classroom sizes allow for the teachers to work more closely with each students learning level. I was amazed to hear our teacher say they were picking out more advanced books for free reading time because that’s where my son was at. I have two in this school and the teachers and staff are very friendly. They offer before and after school care (latchkey) if needed. We also went here for pre-k (which is well worth the cost as they were reading and able to write the alphabet by the end). There is a lottery to get into the school for kindergarten (even if the child attends pre-k there) but once your oldest child is in, the siblings are automatically in.... Read 3 reviews

Senior: My experience at Jackson High has been overall great! Even with COVID-19 ending my freshman year early. The teachers and staff kept positive energy through zooms and activities that we could participate in virtually. I love that my high schools offers 2 dual enrollment programs to students like me who are trying to save money and earn college credits for free. I also enjoy the many clubs at my school that is open to everyone. Student Government is my favorite! Not because I am the president of it, but because every student that participates in this group is kind, creative, and open-minded. We get to make our peers happy by planning events like pep rallies, spirit weeks, dances, and more. If there was one thing I could change about my school it would be the lunch menu. Since we are a closed campus school, my only option is to bring a lunch or eat the lunch food. I don't mind eating the lunch food, but I have seen a pattern of the same foods everyday.... Junior: Jackson Preparatory and Early College is an amazing school for many reasons. I love attending JPEC because the teachers are so helpful, everybody there is so accepting, and it actually feels like a safe environment to learn in. Our administrative staff is the best and they really try to have a personal relationship with the students. They are always checking up in the classrooms and letting students know that they are able to talk to them. Along with having an amazing staff, there is an amazing student body. Our current class president is very involved and is always trying to find new ways to advocate for the students. In my personal opinion, this is one of the best schools for all types of students.... Freshman: Michigan Center high school is a fantastic school. Here, we are one big family and everyone repsects and likes each other. The teachers are so helpful with the students and they explain things the best they can. They make friends with the students instead of just being a mean adult to hand out homework. The assignments are fairly easy but hard at the same time. The school is one big community and when people of Michigan center do great thinga, everyone is proud and we all feel welcome. The sports are one of a kind and we've had all good seasons. The football, basketball, bowling, hockey, cheer, all had good seasons. Now track, softball, baseball, cross country are going big and they're ready for anything thrown at them. Michigan Center has some flaws too. Senior: East Jackson has a very tight knit community. Since Middle School I've been taught to be part of the community. Everyone generally gets along with one another, there are very few fights, and everyone knows everyone else. Learning is easy, and it's easy to get help.
