Junior: I enjoy how competitive Cherry Hill East is with academics, and how there are plenty of opportunities for academic help. I also enjoy the many extracurricular activities that East provides and the diversity of clubs offered. If I were to change one thing, it would be to provide more life skill classes. There are many rigorous courses to take, however I feel that providing more life skill classes/opportunities could prepare students for adulthood. Senior: Franklin Towne Charter high school is a great college preparatory school. They make sure all students are on task with their education and extra curricular activities. They try their best to give their students as much support as possible. This school gives out help to any student in need. Teachers stay after school to help the students that are falling behind so that they will better understand content and assignments. Franklin Towne is a safe environment for students. They have security around the school and they also have security in the school. Security does random school bag checks to make sure that no one is carrying a weapon with them or any substances. They also do random metal detector tests on students to insure everyones safety. Every once in a while Franklin Towne brings K9 dogs to sniff out students lockers to make sure everything is right. Senior: Gloucester County Institute of Technology is the best thing that has ever happened to me! I am currently a senior and am apart of the Baking and Pastry Arts program. This program has amazing teachers that teach you important things you need to know about your future career. I'm sure that goes with all of the other programs as well. The academics in the school could use some work. For example, the English classes test you on how you can read and answer questions from different articles, which is not what we learned throughout the semester. Alum: The really felt the proper "step up" when I transitioned from elementary school to middle school (Beck). I mean this in the way that the course work and material was of greater rigor, intensity, and demand, while still providing quality methods of teaching. The environment felt independent, like being a bit more "on your own", in a sense, derived from the switching between classes and knowing where you had to be when you had to be. Naturally, I've had a few classes with teachers that weren't to my preference of style, but more importantly I've had many great classes because of the great teachers. The facilities are second-rate (e.g. the bathrooms have beaten down stall doors and writing all over, the chrome of the sinks is dingy and the sinks leak, etc.). Alum: If I had been placed at a different school, I honestly don't believe I would have come out as educated as I am today, intellectually, mentally, and emotionally. This school has taught me kindness and empathy, along with believing in yourself and others. I was blessed with such a hard working and wholesome grade group, and I'm sure that FACTS has been a large role on shaping our mindsets and personalities, no matter how small it may seem. Teachers try hard to make us succeed and take the time and effort to help us. Bullying is not tolerated, and the staff do their best to keep students in order with fair punishment. The student body is a respectable group. These are good qualities among many others. Junior: CCTS is a good school to go to if you want to advance in your career choice or just try one out. Career education is thorough and very hands on. Most teachers here are kind and willing to assist you. They offer many after school activities that are fun and educational. This school is very efficient in preparing you for college. Freshman: In my opinion, I believe that the Maritime Academy Charter High School has been one of the most substantial school that I have ever went to. If you want to ask me I don't think that most young adults that attend Maritime really understand the meaning of the word " help ", I sure know I didn't until I came to Maritime. They have shown me a great deal of many things in my couple of months I have been able to achieve a record for myself of all A's. Sophomore: My experience with Burlington County Institute of Technology has been amazing. They provided me with a rich education in many subjects. With this school one is able to choose a career major that they will take for four years. I chose Sports Medicine as my career major. During this I was able to learn anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, orthopedics, rehab, nutrition, and prescriptive fitness. The school guidance counselors have also been amazing. They have provided me with important information regarding scholarships, colleges/university choices, extracurriculars, and more. Another amazing thing about BCIT is their size. The school doesn’t have too many students. Each class is no more than 30 students. You are able to build close relationships with classmates and professors. The school is also diverse. Senior: I love Philadelphia Performing Arts: String Theory. My school is very different from ordinary high schools that just offer general education classes. We have a beautiful building that is in the heart of center city. I love that my high school offers major and elective classes alongside of our gen-ed classes. My school has a wide variety of majors that span from dance and music to tv and broadcasting and theater to stem, art and design. I have been an engineering major all throughout high school. I have also loved my architecture elective that I have been taking my last two years of high school. I am grateful for the resources and opportunities my school has opened up for me. I thank String Theory for allowing me to find a passion in architecture and engineering at such a young age.
