Middle School Student: Hello my name is Emily Pierce and I am in eighth grade and I attend bixby middle school. A few things I love about Bixby middle school is that it offers honors and AP classes. Unlike my old school which was a lot smaller than Bixby it didn’t offer honors classes so the classes were a little bit too easy for me and I wasn’t really challenging my myself the way I had hoped. Bixby is one of the largest schools in Oklahoma and I’m very proud to be apart of the district. All of the teachers I have had during my time at Bixby have been so helpful and understanding. They have helped me learn more things in the past 3 years then I ever did at my old school. I’m not trying to say my old school didn’t teach me things, but Bixby has accelerated way past the teaching standard in my opinion. I could never imagine leaving Bixby public schools because I have made amazing friends not only with my classmates but with the teachers. Sorry I’m cutting it short I hope to hear from you soon!... Alum: This was a great high school to attend, the culture of the school was always amazing and everyone was actively involved in sports, arts, and academics and supported each other. I had some very notable teachers who changed my life, and overall had a positive experience. I would love to see some more diversity in the school, and personal relationships with the administration. Parent: This is the most incredible school. I have 2 boys and they are both receiving an excellent education. The school is strict with their policies but that is why we moved our children there. Our boys want to learn and not be distracted by students that think they can be rude or get away with disrespecting their teachers. They follow a curriculum that is getting your children ready for college entrance exams. At this young of an age, there is plenty of opportunities for sports outside of school. Alum: My high school experience was like any other high school experience, except for the fact that my school was more of a tight knit community, or a family. TSAS, when I was there, was not the high school + middle school it is now, and that is what makes it so great, they always believed in room for improvement, growth. Our mascot is a phoenix, if that isn't enough! It was never that "hoity-toity" high school everyone was dying to get into, but once you get there, learn about yourself and grow a little you start to realize that going to THAT school isn't what it's about. Senior: I like the courses but I do wish that they offered more foreign languages. The classes I feel were easy but that is kind of nice. They are big on sports and successful in track, wrestling and baseball. Our arts programs are also very successful. Senior: I liked the special connections you can grow with everyone. It's such a small school, everyone knows each other. In such small classes yo get the chance to figure each other out without even being the best friends, you just learn the way they react to things with being together in a small class for one whole year. I do wish the staff had better communication skills. I wish we were better off economically. We need more teachers and more space. The school is growing, the more crowded the halls get, the more space in the building there needs to be for us students to get by after class hours. There needs to be more variety of sports....
