Sophomore: My first two years at Cherry Creek High School have been very entertaining. The students and staff are very friendly, and will help you if you need to get around. My teachers have been a huge part of my academic life, for they have helped me get through the topic by really spending time with me and help me understand it. The courses offered at Cherry Creek are also very fascinating to learn about. We get hands on experience with the topic we learn about, which I really admire. I currently am enrolled in a public health program that I am very excited about, and will help me further in my medical career. Sophomore: Honestly i really like my high school experience here at DSST Mont view, they offer so many college opportunities, there's so many clubs for so many interests, sports , diversity & inclusivity, advanced classes and prepare you overall for college. I'm black and Muslim growing up I've been to 8 different schools but I've never been as accepted by my community and have as many friends as i did in this school. The only 2 things I would say is the the school and system is very controlling considering we are going into college independent, and the school doesnt have many school lunch options that are vegetarian or halal. but overall i love it here if I had to switch i wouldn't!... Senior: The teachers at Dsst: Byers High School become close friends/family. I love that my teachers cared for each and one of my classmates, and took the time to know us personally. This type of relationship is great, since it makes it easier to ask for help and better advocate for yourself. To add on, there are many options for classes to take in order for each student to be challenged at a reasonable level. There are many activities and extracurriculars to join, and even opportunities to start your own club! Here at Byers inclusivity and respect are highly encouraged, there are many affinity/cultural clubs open to the whole student body. Senior: East High isn't a perfect school, but that doesn't take away the incredible academic, social, and sports life that the school has. East gives students the option to take unique classes catered to their interests such as Queer Literature, Native American History, and one of my favorites, Mid Evil History. Alum: Denver School of the Arts was overall a very enriching experience when it came to furthering my skills in the arts. The resources provided for this course of study were phenomenal. The main concerns I would raise for any incoming students are that: #1) While this school can be very beneficial for someone looking to follow the arts, it can often be difficult path for someone who has decided that the arts are not for them. Many students decide that they would rather pursue a different passion in life by the time they are seniors. This can make the highly art centered environment fairly hard to be a part of. Especially since there are no sports! #2) The school spirit is generally lacking. While there are many school sponsored events that students can attend while enrolled at DSA, many of them revolve around individual art forms. Senior: My experience at Columbine High School has been one of inspiration and hard work. The community around pushes you to your absolute best, you represent Columbine with everything you do! The teachers and students build close connections to motivate you to accomplish your goals, and the students are very friendly. They're no cliques at Columbine, everybody is friends and can rely on one another to help. The Columbine community is one big close-knit family, through thick and thin we have each others backs, academically and emotionally. The will to learn at Columbine is quite inspiring for any new student or parent to observe. The tradition of excellence and community has been carried on and reflected by the people who leave there. Junior: DSST: GVR high school is a good school in which educators do their best to ensure that students are well supported academically, and College readiness. The school has a very strong College team to assist students in their college searches and help students to weigh their options for colleges (getting into a good and affordable college). As good as it sounds the schools as a lot of areas in which they need to grow, For examples: There is not much variety in Clubs and after school activities, not taking accusations against certain people seriously and not properly listening to students voices regarding workload and mental state. Senior: I have absolutely loved my experience at Northfield Highschool. It has been a learning experience. Throughout the 3 years that I've attended, I can definitely say Northfield has impacted the way I am living. I have become a more independent, team player, and open-minded person. Senior: During my time at Thomas Jefferson High School, I have been met with unconditional support from the community. I have been able to develop meaningful connections with my teachers, which has allowed me to thrive within their respective classes. I enjoy how much enthusiasm the whole staff seems to have everyday and how willing they are to help all of the students succeed. Although I have enjoyed my time here, it would be better if some of the teachers reacted to certain things in different ways. Sophomore: I love how diverse it is and how you can learn a lot about many different cultures. The school really emphasizes the diversity as well. Most teachers are pretty good however Denver Public Schools needs teachers and ends up hiring whoever they can so it can depend. The size is also very good, not too big and not too small! The IB diploma is very strong and even though it isn't diverse, the program is very srong and prepares students very well for college. Sophomore: I actually went to Colorado Early Colleges Inverness but they had no option for that campus. I really enjoyed going to high school there. The student body is tiny but I like that it gives you an opportunity to know all of the students a little bit. The faculty is fantastic! Best of all, the whole purpose of the school is to graduate all of their students with Associates degrees. We can take college classes on campus or we can take them directly from Arapahoe Community College. This is an amazing opportunity for students who will pursue a degree after high school.... Niche User: I loved Carson, it was an amazing school that gave me amazing experiences, and it even inspired me to go and be an elementary school teacher myself. It works great with students, the teachers are great, the school is always clean, everyone on staff is always extremely nice, you always feel welcomed at the school.
