Senior: I loved my time at Weaver academy. The classes are challenging, especially the AP classes but they help prepare the students for college. The visual art department I am a part of helped me explore my art style and collaborate with others in a way that would have been difficult at any other school. The clubs offered provide a space for all students with all different interests and skills creating an inclusive environment where everyone has a safe space. The biggest downside is the quality of the building, the AC is frequently broken and the walls and ceilings are in poor condition. Parent: SCA is the cream of the crop for elementary/middle schools. Their curriculum is top notch. This shows in the students attitudes and test scores. The teachers really know how to relay the information to the students. I do think a little smaller student to teacher ratio would be better. Rooms seems a little overcrowded. Senior: The experience at STEM Early College at Nc A&T. Su, is overall good. This school has a strong focus on academics as we take AP and Honors courses, the AP exams, and SAT and ACT prep. Then we take college courses for junior and senior year. It prepares you for college well with many academically rigorous courses. The teachers are mostly good with a few that don't teach that well. Middle School Student: This middle college is a great way to become introduced to college life with limitations of control it's definitely a way for any teenager to find themselves. I've grown to be very mature and how business should properly be handled. I've created a family dynamic that's rooting for me along the way. And for that I am greatly proud. Yes, it can be mentally draining but the amount of free time I receive from getting my work done makes up for all those things. Although the staff can be unorganized in such important times that's the only experience that will be the toughest. The teachers each teach you something that will help you throughout life. And the classroom dynamic is built to really learn something not just because the teacher gets paid to do it. One of my favorite things is the way they greet you when you're at the finish line. Freshman: Overall, my experience at the Middle College at UNCG has been rewarding in leading me into self-discovery and college readiness. The educational opportunities at the Middle College at UNCG far exceed traditional high schools. I have access to regular, advanced and AP classes as well as college classes. I thought attending the Middle College at UNCG would mean missing out on traditional high school opportunities. However, I was entirely mistaken, the friendships I have made will last a lifetime and the sense of freedom I have on a college campus is truly incredible. The classes I take are tailored to my academic needs and readiness. All of the teachers I have had so far are very inclusive. They are always open and have the greatest concern for all their students. As for changing anything about my school, I don’t think I would. Sophomore: My experience at The Early Middle College at GTCC-Greensboro has had its ups and downs. My freshman year was probably my worst as I did not know anyone and wasn't very social. My teachers were very inclusive in making me feel more comfortable. I began my first college class as a freshman during the second semester where I met more people and experienced a college environment. I have completed two college courses in the first semester of my sophomore year. I have grown academically and socially. I have maintained all A's and passed my exam with a level five. The diversity , students ,teachers, academics, the environment, the school pride made me regret being mad for transferring schools, when i arrived within my first week i felt very welcoming. Niche User: I attended Mendenhall in my eighth grade year. I enjoyed attending this school for the most part. Some of my teachers looked out for my best interest and prepared me for later in life, while other teachers sat at there desk the whole class and didn’t teach. The school doesn’t feel all that safe.
