110 Best Public High Schools in North Carolina

High School Junior: I am so thankful that this school accepted me! I cannot imagine going to another school in this county. We were ranked #31 in the state and #1933 nationally by U.S. News and World Report. This school has changed my view of the world and inspired me to be a better person. The required community service is easy to do since there are many opportunities offered through the school and many students, like myself, go above and beyond the requirements. This schools graduation requirements are more rigorous than the county so we are more competitive than other schools and many of our students get into their top school choices. Our students have the opportunity to earn large amounts of financial aid and scholarship money and our guidance office is fantastic about working with students of all races to get them ready to attend college or higher levels of education. All of the students that attend Massey Hill Classical high school wither chose to go here or their parents want them to go here which results in a dedicated, competitive student body who are all college-bound and who desire success after high school! We have a near 100% graduation rate and its a fantastic group of students who all encourage each other to do their best. I love the teachers and this school has really become a second family to me. I cannot wait for my sibling to come here and I cannot wait to see what next year has in store for me here! The military community at this school is also quite large so the schools student body demographics are very diverse. We have students from all ethnicities who speak many different languages. Students here have a drive to learn, in and out of school. I would just live to throw in that we also won the Fox50 LipDub and won $10,000 dollars! This was amazing since we are on of the smallest schools, if not the smallest school, that entered. I love this school and I couldn't imagine being anywhere other than Massey Hill! Go Pirates!
