Senior: One of the standout features of GSMST is the opportunity to take so many courses at the collegiate level; I was able to participate in 13 Advanced Placement (AP) classes throughout my high school career. This allowed me to challenge myself academically and prepare for college in a way that many other high schools could not dream of replicating. One of the highlights of my time at GSMST was the opportunity to see a bypass surgery live through the "Live from the Heart" program. It was a truly unique and enriching experience that I will never forget. Overall, GSMST is an amazing school for students interested in STEM. The school provides numerous opportunities for students to engage with real-world applications of STEM concepts through internships, research projects, and hands-on learning experiences. Senior: I like school! I've always wanted to attend a school with an open campus so I can replicate the feeling of a college campus. There is a lot of trust and freedom in the school, while still having the opportunity to support struggling students. I applaud the way the administration is handling the COVID pandemic. I would appreciate it if the administration hired more counselors to accommodate for such large classes. My senior class alone has close to 600 students with five counselors and two college specialized counselors. I had a five-week wait for my recommendation letter. Senior: PDS is one of the greatest schools i’ve ever been in. The building is beautiful and modern and the facilities are clean. Besides appearance, PDS also has so much technology and tools for students to learn how to use. I’m on the engineering pathway, which means I spend a lot of time in the Paul Duke Makerspace, and get to operate all kinds of wood and metal working machinery. We also get to utilize Auto CAD design software, coding software, graphic design ware, etc in the many classes PDS has to offer. Presently, the engineering department is working on an outdoor garden space with mushroom beds and a greenhouse, which will be a cool space for future students to explore botanical or horticultural interests. The school is also working on setting up a 3D printing lab, because while there are a variety of 3D printers in the school, they aren’t in one central place for student use. Senior: This school offers something that no other elementary and middle school offer , and that is mandarin chinese. A few things that I've been able to enjoy at this school are the field trips, friends, and assemblies that take up class time. I have gained lifelong bonds with my peers, and teachers that have watched us grow up. I believe that this school is a working progress and they are soon looking to expand. Now, some, let me rephrase that, MANY improvements can be made to this school: more challenging lessons, more extracurricular opportunities, more hands on materials, a more preparatory environment, and better facilities and admin. I truly believe that this school is a diamond in the rough, knowing that they offer language immersion and a small class/ private school environment. Parent: My children have attended this school since opening. They also attend other learning and social clubs outside of school. Over the years I noticed how my children have strong project based learning skills over their peers that attend other private and public schools. They also have exhibited a diverse way of applying what they have learned in math, science and language arts. From my experience of both private and public schools my children have attended, the turn over is about the same. Any issues I have had with teachers at BIA have been resolved fairly quickly. Another factor in our family success at BIA has been our participation with the school and staff but also educational reinforcement at home. We do not believe that ANY school can teach our children EVERYTHING. Also, every family is different. We discussed what type of education, teachers and curriculum was important. Senior: I started going to Tapestry my Freshman year of high school, now I’m a Senior about to graduate. Overall I would say I had a good experience at Tapestry. Everyone was kind and respectful to one another. The classes were smaller than a regular high school so the teachers gave the students more attention and time to finish their work. It is however not similar to a “normal” high school. Our school population does not exceed 2,000. We go to school in a one floor building and we don’t have a football team or many fun activities. Senior: I am one of the first-ever students who stepped foot on McClure's campus in 2019. Throughout the first year of its opening, I knew it was the school for me. The teachers genuinely do care about the students here and always try to encourage them to succeed beyond what they could ever dream of. I've met many incredible teachers who help their students beyond the classroom every single day. The opportunities here at McClure are abundant and impressive for many students in every interest not only in the health science field. Alum: Going to Phoenix turned my high school experience around. My mental health at my old school was horrible, but once I finally started at Phoenix it improved. The school is really accommodating with having options for face-to-face, hybrid, or self-directed classes. Each period is two hours long with classes going all the way to 8 pm. This structure helped me a lot because I could pace myself a lot compared to my old school where I couldn't settle in and constantly felt rushed. That plus the teachers who all wanted us to succeed. Every one of them was great and their confidence in me motivated me to do better. If I had known about the school and what it was like before I would have gone there much sooner.
