  1. Sir Francis Drake High School

High School Sophomore: Drake has a really great and open atmosphere. When you first start school and see how things are run you can see that most teachers and students are accepting of who you are, especially if you are from the LGBT+ community. We have bathrooms that are open for boys or girls to use if they identify as a boy or girl, which is probably very appreciative for those students. Drake also has SLC which are small learning communities. The communities are really heavily project based, one is based on the arts and drama, and the others are based on sciences, history, and current word problems. But they really help you improve your writing skills and public speaking skills because during each project we learn new writing tactics to help persuade our audience or to make them really feel as we present our current projects. The counselors are really a big help as well with your education or your personal life. They are always there to talk. I would definitely choose Drake again because even though I've faced a lot of challenges with my education and personal life, I always had friends and my counselor to really help me when I needed them. Drake and the teachers are making me the person I'll be when I head off to college. Its help making me who I will be and that is definitely someone i'm going to like.

Niche User: Quite honestly, San Andreas High School has changed my life. I transferred there in my junior year because I thought I would benefit from the smaller class sizes advertised on the website, but I ended up receiving so much more. Not only was there a student to teacher of about 10:1, but the instructors truly cared about me. They were consistently involved in my academic and social progress throughout the year I attended, and could always tell when there was something going on that I needed to talk about. My school counselor, Cory, was the best. His flexible schedule made him readily available to respond to my questions and concerns. He was reliable, funny, friendly, and very helpful. Another thing that I really enjoyed about San Andreas was the up to date technology. I completed an entire semester of Geometry online, which was awesome because I got to go at my own pace. I would spend an hour in the classroom working, but if I had some free time at home later that night I could work some more! The teachers also kept class websites that posted homework, updated grades and transcripts, along with worksheets and syllabuses we might need. Some other perks that came along with being enrolled at San Andreas were the beautiful aesthetics, convenient location, and diverse student body. I would recommend this high school to anyone who desires an academically challenging environment with more support than you could ever ask for.
