#104 Best Public High Schools in North Carolina
Senior: This school does an amazing job of academically preparing students for college, and having events that make the students feel special, such as having school dances, watermelon and hot chocolate blasts after school, and a senior play. The environment has mostly a friendly close-knit feel. Most of the teachers are want students to do well, but only if the students are willing to put in the effort. However, the administrators at the school discourage individuality and freedom of expression. Girls are often harshly dress coded for petty "violations," which are usually dependant on their body type. Students are not allowed to dye their hair any unnatural colors. Students are yelled at for not singing the school's alma mater. In addition, lunches are only twenty minutes long, and by the time people get their lunch, there is only ten minutes to eat. Many people just do not eat lunch because of this.
